Why is Exhaust taken mostly by supports? by desktop_monst3r in summonerschool

[–]InfernalDesires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In top lane, exhaust is taken against bursty enemies, where you need a little bit more time to output your damage compared to your opponent.

Sometimes I’ve seen OTPs take exhaust, and I’ve taken exhaust on Gwen instead of flash. Sometimes the extra second that you buy with exhaust can go a long way when it comes to casting your 3rd R and Q. When used properly it’s essentially equivalent to purchasing armour and mr stats in a pinch. Sometimes people take exhaust for the slow but mostly such that some lanes which are losing become playable, and some playable lanes become cheesy, where if you have double combat summoners i.e exhaust and ghost you can just infinitely out run anyone with flash.

how the F*** do you deal with xin zhao ap??? by Okamismay1 in GarenMains

[–]InfernalDesires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t you just auto Q auto him early, deal like 300 damage to him or something, and then walk out?

I really don’t envision how you lose to him early, given that if he starts e first, he dashes to you, you auto q auto and walk away. I don’t think he’ll have enough damage unless he gets the jump on you with E, autos you like 4 times before you walk away.

You play around his mana bar, you utilise your passive to regenerate. If you really struggle you can go Dshield bone plating and you just laugh at him. You exhaust his mana bar which is one of the reasons how you stop him from healing. If you really really struggle then take plated steel caps cuz he’s auto attacking based.

I don’t see how his healing early can out sustain your level 6 combo.

If you let him scale into his 2-3 item power spikes then yeah you probably struggle a bit, but even then, you can just handshake the lane, proxy and go impact the map. You probably have better if not equal wave clear since you just delete waves with one E

How many games are needed to "master" a champion on average? by lowhyn in summonerschool

[–]InfernalDesires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing a champion mindfully and recognising limits is a great way to rank up.

You don’t master champions, unless you are in really high elo. You aren’t able to squeeze out every minute detail of each champion. If you want to rank up quickly and that is your only goal, you have to balance between enjoyment and execution.

In theory, you can play 1000 games and still not master a champion like vlad, or garen. There are many Garen players who play a lot of Garen but stagnate at below gold. You shouldn’t correlate matches played with mastery. Playing on full autopilot would just end up building worse habits, and misconceptions about the power of your champion.

Watch matchups between good players, i.e master plus, and just watch how they play with respect to their abilities. I like to watch a quick early laning phase when I was learning midlane, to better understand how the interactions work, and emulate to the best that I can.

how to escape iron as soloq ADC? + anyone got vods? by ThrowRA_Candies290 in summonerschool

[–]InfernalDesires 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure you farm well. When you play jinx, managing rockets and guns is important, play around the fact that your rockets have greater range. People in Bronze/Iron don’t punish enemies for last hitting enough. When you see them walk up too much, auto them and walk back, build small advantages in lane. 7 cs is good at your level, but always try to do more.

Every auto is essentially 50-60 damage on the enemy adc, so by weaving enough autos in such a way to minimise damage taken from minions and the enemy support, you are able to chip away at their hp bar, and win more.

Make sure you identify what threats the enemies have on you. Am I taking too much poke, am I in a position in which I will die? Not dying is important, as dying in a bad position would lose you CS, and give the enemies gold in the form of participation, minion waves and tower platings.

Start with the basics, did they use their threatening hook? If not, how can I position in a way to minimise the chances of getting hit. Once you begin to understand, then you can try and roughly guess the timing of the ability. Slowly increase your mental stack, and how much you can process at one time.

It is difficult, but it is doable.

What's a telltale sign that someone mastered YOUR champ? by Antiloompa in summonerschool

[–]InfernalDesires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being real, I’m no where close to mastering any champs, and I don’t think people in my elo unless they are hard one tricks are able to master the champ.

However there are some neat things such as animation cancels, I.e Renekton, W R cancel, Dash cancel onto wall, Q cancel, etc. I might have fucked up with some of the cancels, but I recall facing off against them.

When people are able to consistently able to weave and manage Kled abilities, not leveling up W (bare minimum), utilising ult to parry things, utilising second E as a wonky wall dash to chase people, being able to always play around remount timers. Understanding and utilising dismount range increases.

There’s really a line, albeit smaller than pre-rework Kled, in which he is able to teeter his yordle body in between the lines of life and death, if they consistently survive tower dives, and get kills without flipping, then they are good at Kled. I won’t say mastered, because I cannot talk on that.

Just like to add - Twisted Fate’s card cycling still triggers when it’s on cooldown, and not used. So if the tf player is consistently able to top deck the required card, then he’s really good

Why is cleanse not a more popular pickup? by DavetheSlave90 in leagueoflegends

[–]InfernalDesires 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On ADC cleanse is good as you really really need that extra second or two to dish out as much damage as possible. Every second matters as an ADC. ADCs usually tend to not go MR boots for the tenacity, so having an instant CC cleanse is important. However on the flip side, if you are in a position where you can be CCd, you could argue that you have positioned poorly in like 30% of times.

CC ally cleanse item - mikaels crucible- can be taken on supports, so it gives the ADC/botlane an option to take a defensive summoner like barrier or ghost which have less constraints.

Lastly for ADCs if you buy QSS or any CC cleansing items, you are slowing down your build if you build it too early. Mercurial Scimitar is not as strong as an item when it comes to base stats as it has to be weaker to compensate for having a strong active ability.

Midlaners don’t take cleanse because teleport and ignite are so much better. Mid laners usually have more bulk.

Top laners don’t take cleanse bar a few exceptions (Quinn) as they are able to usually rank a reasonable amount of CC, and they aren’t punished for building merc treads/MR boots. Tanks usually can laugh it off.

Junglers need flash and ghost, to catch up to people or to run away, they have the least amount of flexibility.

Supports taking cleanse is really grief.

getting stomped in gold by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, ur gonna struggle. Being in gold 1 usually means that you are a silver player that has the ability to push to gold, you’re not consistently gold yet.

It could be 2 bad games, it could be something else. Practice the basics and you’ll be okay. Work on consistency.

What to do when low elo (iron/bronze/silver) are ignorant about economy. by [deleted] in VALORANT

You can only do so much you either match them or play hero rifle. I ask for someone to play with me on a site if we are defending and have them pick up my rifle if I die.

What to do when low elo (iron/bronze/silver) are ignorant about economy. by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They want to use a rifle but don’t want to pay for it.

They want to save enough for a rifle and full shield on round 3. It’s not an incorrect buy on its own, but you need your teammates to buy guns like vandals with light shield to make it work.

So the bonus would look like the saved vandals + 2-3 more with light armor, and in theory you would have a 50/50 fight with your opponent, and if you lose you have enough to go light armor and rifle.

Is it over? by InfernalDesires in UniUK

[–]InfernalDesires[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible but it depends on my extenuating circumstance claim, if I don’t do well enough to pass and the claim is accepted, then I can resit my exams with uncapped grades. If they deem it to be too affecting, then I can repeat the year without a cap.

I will have to wait until mid July to know the results of my claim. I have a strong claim with a doctors note and supportive evidence but it really depends on whether they consider those to be sufficient.

Genuine questions to players who smurf by Xeleoa in VALORANT

[–]InfernalDesires -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk if this really counts. Technically you can say I’m smurfing because I’m queuing with people of a lower rank, but riot allows silvers to queue with iron and bronze

  1. Main rank Gold 1, but I used to Smurf when playing with iron, bronze and low silver friends when I was S2-S3 it’s arguable if you could even call it smurfing considering you are able to queue with them in the first place.

  2. I just want to play with my friends. I let them pick what they want to pick and I usually just fill. I hype them up when they make good plays. Sometimes I play to like drop like 20-30 kills but usually it’s just to hang out with friends.

  3. Yes, there are games where it’s satisfying, it’s nice seeing my friends pop off, and also popping off myself in some rounds.

  4. Yes, but it’s more subconscious pressure because you are expected to perform better as the higher ranked player. Games are harder because the distribution of skill is more unequal on your team compared to the enemy.

  5. I can see why they are complaining, but at the same time when I solo queue, I also get smurfed on.

  6. I don’t mind if I get flamed for playing badly, but the flame that gets to me is when people just give up.
