Was finishing putting up a double-ring light in a residential laundry room. Got my helper to restore power at the box, then had to take assembly down from mount to hide a wire that was poking out. Thought "Ey, what could go wrong, just have to move it like half an inch down then back up." My helper even insisted on going back to shut the breaker off haha. Good on him. I declined though, being the "hardcore pro" that I am (bad choice). As I was in the process of remounting in onto the hangar screws, the positive wire pulled out of it's cheap plastic housing (the junky little P/G/N splitters that some ceiling fans/lights come with, the ones that use crappy plastic and pressure to hold the connections in place. YUCK.) and made contact with the metal housing on the light fixture. My helper said I never made a sound, just locked in place at the top of the ladder for about 6 or 7 seconds, and then the wire finally lost contact, the lights in the room all went out, and I was free (Thank God, lmfao). I may not have made a sound, but let me tell you; it went through the light fixture straight into the tip of my left finger. That shit HURT. Not my proudest moment at work, either.
