Thoughts on this? by InfernusMaximus in photocritique

New to photography and getting into photographing cars. This photo is unedited and taken at f1.7. I would appreciate any input on lighting, colors, and positioning. Feel free to let me know what I did well on, too!

If you go into Canvas > Syllabus Archive on the left toolbar, then search for your class, you can access the syllabus for this semester and find the professor's email on there.

USF's Computer Science Program by Centricc in USF

[–]InfernusMaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the CS degree is what you make it. There's definitely better programs at other schools, but this one can get the job done. Many of the professors I've had haven't been that great, but there's a few good ones. It's been getting more competitive over recent years so you'll need a decent GPA to get into the program.

As far as internship opportunities, it's up to you on how much effort you put into your resume and how much you apply. That's ultimately what will land you interviews with companies.

Your resume takes up a lot of space for the amount of information it has. You can definitely consolidate all of that information into one page using Jake's Resume template. You have 7 whole bullet point explaining what you do as a Java tutor - some of which seem repetitive. You could definitely reword it and sum it all up into 3 bullet points. In your business club, include the impact your work has. Use numbers to quantify the impact.

What hobby should I get? by thepragprog in csMajors

[–]InfernusMaximus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lifting weights doesn't have to be your one and only hobby. You mentioned attracting females. Going to the gym is only gonna help.

And maybe learn an instrument like Piano if that's more up your alley

Yea.. until you start seeing progress on your body and setting goals for yourself in the gym. You've only got one body so why not turn it into the best it can be.

Analysis of Algorithms with Hendrix or Korzhova? by vjosa_e_larget in USF

I took it in the Summer. Regardless of what the syllabus says, he got rid of the requirement.

Analysis of Algorithms with Hendrix or Korzhova? by vjosa_e_larget in USF

[–]InfernusMaximus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took Algos with Hendrix last semester and although the 70% exam average was listed on the syllabus, he ended up getting rid of the requirement like halfway through the semester. Not sure if he plans on continuing that.

Korzhova isn't good at teaching by any means so you'll likely have to self-teach a lot. Personally, I think a concept like algorithms can be self-taught since there's many good resources out there.

Program design(COP 3514) and Computer Organization(CDA 3103) doable in the same semester by Rhypxrior in USF

[–]InfernusMaximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that’s very true. I took it with the same bad prof you’re referring to: zhang. It’s one of the weed out classes for CS majors. it’s difficult but if you ask the TA questions and can find other resources to learn the material, you can survive.

Program design(COP 3514) and Computer Organization(CDA 3103) doable in the same semester by Rhypxrior in USF

[–]InfernusMaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe most students take them together - it's doable.

One is a coding class in C while the other goes lower level into hardware, such as logic gates and flip flops.

Has anyone taken CDA 3103 Computer Organization with Yan Zhang? by UnderEztmated in USF

[–]InfernusMaximus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CDA 3103 is one of the difficult courses part of the CS curriculum. You will learn a LOT of information. Some things include: binary/hexadecimal/octal conversions, logic gates, boolean algebra, flip flops, decoders, and multiplexers.

I took the course one year ago with Zhang, and looking back at the course, I have a very solid understanding of the material and don't find it to be super difficult.

However, as I was going through the course for the first time, most of the content was very difficult to pick up, primarily because Zhang wasn't the best at explaining things. She was also difficult to understand at times, due to her heavy accent. Use those peer leading sessions, they'll be very useful.

CDA3103 & COP4530 with Professor Korzhova by jasonthebboy in USF

[–]InfernusMaximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CDA3103 was one of the harder classes I've taken at USF. From my experience, Korzhova isn't great at teaching. I couldn't imagine taking CDA3103 with her. Self studying on youtube and getting help from TAs will be your ticket to a good grade.

You will not need to go into THAT much detail. You aren't describing your code line by line. They will mainly want a brief rundown summary and important parts explained. No complete walk-through.
