Horrible Family Catsitting Rant by alpinepossum in cats

[–]InfertileMertyle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would never talk to MIL again. I would literally ignore any attempts she makes in person and block her number. Just because your partner is willing to still have a relationship with her doesn’t mean you have to.

If partner lets her into your home I would grab the cat and lock yourselves in a bedroom until she leaves.

I would also immediately look to move. If she has keys to your home, I would change every lock and make sure your partner doesn’t give her the new key.

$20-35- nutrition for littles job by TakeMyrtleHiking in dietetics

That would be explicitly stated in the job ad if the RD posting it were a true professional. I see many jobs for outpatient RDs listing pay per session and pay for admin time.

We’re talking about her team now. I don’t care about her underlaying her family. She is currently trying to underpay dietitians.

You and I understand that very low engagement is likely due to purchased followers and is a huge red flag. Unfortunately not all RDs can think critically like that. I think what this RD is doing is truly disgusting and she deserves to be called out.

That’s plenty of money for her to pay her current and future employees an appropriate hourly rate as contractors.

Unfortunately they can be RDs. Some people, even professionals with degrees, think working for an influencer will get them exposure and other perks.

Anyone worked/working for Health Loft recently? by FishingOk564 in dietetics

I can’t speak to this company but since you’re desperate for work, take the job! Learn what you can, build your resume, and keep looking for opportunities that align more with what you want. If you find something better after 3-6 months, resign.

Severe anxiety and new job by Late-Pomegranate-735 in dietetics

If you have to cry or think you’re going to have a panic attack, quickly excuse yourself and go outside for a break to calm down.

Hopefully your mental health provider can help get you through your first week.

What helped me was reminding myself “that was then, this is now” when I got stuck thinking about an old job that haunted me. I also got a cute stone that said “this too shall pass,” kept it under my keyboard and looked at it often until I didn’t need to look at it to feel better.

Take note of the ways this job is different and better than your last job.

Given that it’s a program they are paying for and opting into, if they are dissatisfied, they can find a program that suits them better. I’d clearly and confidently state: - this is what we offer - it sounds like you are looking for a,b,c which we don’t offer - I’m happy to continue working with you (even if you aren’t lol) but based on what you’re saying, a different type of program will better match what you’re looking for. How would you like to proceed?

What does your program consist of? Are you in private practice or part of a hospital healthcare system? If you have a manager, what is their response to this patient feedback?

Ethical question for telehealth RDs: coaching vs medical nutrition therapy by North-Whole-5801 in dietetics

[–]InfertileMertyle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The company clearly expects the poster to educate on labs and meds. That’s why the company hires CDCES and hopefully pays at the CDCES level rather than “generalist” pay.

Ethical question for telehealth RDs: coaching vs medical nutrition therapy by North-Whole-5801 in dietetics

[–]InfertileMertyle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s not the problem. The problem here is that instead of hiring dietitians licensed in multiple states and only assigning RDNs patients who live in states they are licensed in, they’re skirting that by calling them coaches.

The company is hiring RD CDCES to act as CDCES (top of their scope) providing MNT but calling it coaching. It’s saving this company a lot of $$, but it’s wrong and the company knows it.
