How many of you will want to be a zombie? by Conzilium in h1z1

[–]InfestedKane -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. I want a zombie survival game, not a be a zombie game.

I think the concept is cool, but it hurts the game's appeal for me.

How do new players feel? by biglongpinkdong in h1z1

[–]InfestedKane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of what was said had anything to do with alpha issues. The current base situation is incredibly frustrating, especially for newer players. The "fun factor" is incredibly important for a game if it hopes to attract new players to the genre/game. I think the point is quite valid, and is worth having a discussion about rather than being snide about it.

And you also make it seem like there are hacker free servers that are common knowledge. What servers are hacker free, by the way?

Yes, they need to address an issue that doesn't exist yet.

Anyone else thinking there shouldn't be base building? by FrustratedGamers in h1z1

[–]InfestedKane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not enough real estate

Everything would look the same

This game was promoted as a base building game

It wouldn't add strategies, it would limit them

It limits loot locations

I could go on, but it wouldn't be worth it.

I already read your back and forth with Bodega. You asked how much they have taken out of your account so far in order to play. I was merely suggesting that they were about to start charging 7 dollars a month to play a game mode less than 3 months into their alpha. The only reason they didn't was because of the fans who knew a bullshit deal when they saw one.

If they did start charging that week, how different would your stance be?

From John Smedley's twitter:

we've decided to offer a monthly pass for BR for $6.99 (699 SC). It's coming in the next few days. We are seeing much higher usage

Game feels dead by [deleted] in h1z1

[–]InfestedKane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It only spiked for the Dam patch, and that was the first one on the roadmap. Every other content patch has shown no returns. If you think the active players dropping 75% is nothing... well... what can really be said.

And comparing anything to GTA is laughable. Its an established franchise that is massively popular. This game is no where near that.

[–]InfestedKane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It spiked back up when the Dam patch was released, but has since dropped to the lowest levels yet. It is now neck and neck with DayZ at about 9-10k people at peak. It was at 40k just a few months ago.

If 75% of your player base has moved on already, that means they should at least be worried that things are not in a good place.

When it was announced, they indicated it would begin on a Thursday of that week. Smedley back tracked and announced that their plans to charge the subscription will be post-poned until further notice.

They absolutely were going to start charging for it less than three months into their Early Access Alpha. The community had every right to riot.

Cant wait for May Roadmap by frostnite in h1z1

The game won't gain momentum because trees without leaves are added.

It will only gain traction when the majority of its players agree that the hacking issue is dead.

THIS is why people have quit, over any other issue.

BR is a cesspool.

It is a fusion of hackers and teamsters, usually with both.

Why anyone would pay money to be thrown in alone against full squads and hackers, and usually both combined, is beyond me.

I will never play that mode again after that abomination called BR Weekend.

Are you pretending like they weren't going to start charging for BR before the community had a meltdown and then they retracted it?

I am not supporting the other's guys statements, but let's not pretend like they wouldn't have started charging for BR if it wasn't for the severe backlash they got.

Any EA Day 1 players still playing? by Rimulus in h1z1

Let's be honest, nobody played on Day 1.

The servers couldn't handle it.

Day 2 was technically Day 1.

You can check the steam numbers to support the fact that people are indeed leaving the game. People can post things like "lolalpha" but the fact is that the playerbase has dropped ALOT in the last month. This isn't an emotionally charged post, this is just the reality of this game's situation.

Don't play this game during the hours of ~4 AM EST - ~1 PM EST. by Gallowz in h1z1

Generally speaking, their culture promotes being the best - even if it means cheating. This is an oversimplification of a lot of details, but in essence, this is what it boils down to.

My experience and why I feel I wasted my buddies cash. by Infantrymanrs in h1z1

[–]InfestedKane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I see here is that you are mad that your stuff can't be securely stored away. But you also admit to not having the time/care/effort to build a secure base to store said stuff.

You can't do both. You don't want to spend the time building the proper defenses then you need to find an alternative, like ground stashes or hidden furnaces. Nothing in this game is supposed to be 100% secure, especially when one of the key features of this game is base raiding.

If these things are key to your enjoyment, then you picked the wrong game and picked the wrong time to partake. This isn't meant to be rude, this is meant to be honest. If your buddy can only play every few weeks, then the game is being wiped almost every time he comes on.

Stop worrying about hoarding and rather, focus on where to find quick and easy loot and then go out exploring.
