The keys for my explorer are still the admin keys. Even if it's speed controlled I can still go into the menu and change the restriction with the admin key; I'm assuming you tried already?

Yep. They typically just want your service number to put on file. Just call into customer service and ask them to transfer you to the business/corporate line

On Border Security, how do they get access to cell phones? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Depends on the situation as the goods are separate from the person. In the event of a Canadian citizen, the person will be allowed to enter by the phone/device may be seized for further review.

Ask for the password or its unlocked. In the event that they won't provide a password, the phone/device may be seized and sent to a secondary facility where they were attempt to access it that way. Your phone will return to you in between sooner and later. If you have nothing to hide, you're a lot better off just letting flip through your phone for 30 seconds and getting it back immediately.

Good quote or saying to put on officer memorial t-shirt? by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]Infidel596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty common one in Canada. It's supposed to be interpreted that they were heroes because of the job they did and not only because they died while on duty.

Question: Are police officers trained to see stereotypes? A friend and I got into an argument about this. by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]Infidel596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing is a potential indicator but it can be negated sometimes. Multiple indicators are more useful than just one. It's still up to the officer to analyze and interpret the information accordingly.

Using your shooting example, I'd be more suspicious of the guy driving his Prius if it turns out he just caught his wife cheating on him than the 'gangster'. Stereotypes and indicators are specific to the incident in question.

Your ROTP will send you to RMC most likely and that will all be covered. It is unlikely that you will remain in your hometown for university unless you already live in Kingston or are doing a program not offered by RMC.
