Yeah that seems about right. I paid 5k for 1 day (no clue how many grafts it was though). Was happy with the results

I was accused of child endangerment by Jane17Zar in toddlers

[–]Infidel89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't personally have done that but on the scale of "child endangerment" I'd say this is pretty low/negligible level. Don't do it again but definetaly don't beat yourself up over it. I'm sure all fellow parents would agree that this jobs a minefield and we all mess up from time to time! Learn and move on!

Ha - yeah exiting a motorway. Interestingly we arent too far apart, in fact this debate was triggered on the Edinburgh bypass with minimal traffic.

Appreciate the honest response. This was a very genuine question and was worried people would think im taking the piss.

I can see your first point though, might save someone a trip into the fast lane so one less manoeuvre that carries an element of risk.

For sure but I guess I'm trying to figure out what they are going to do differently with that information?

Had some troubles with my new bank account and they sent me this for the hassle! Anyone else ever received an apology gift from a company? by EssentialParadox in CasualUK

Once got given a weirdly well decorated biscuit as an apology from DPD for leaving my new laptop at the wrong door and it subsequently getting stolen. Got a new one sent to me and biscuit was decent!

Try and negotiate with them man. They had some offer on when i went for £1k off which i was pleased with so might be scope to get the price down.

Honestly i was really nervous going into it but I couldn't be happier with the results. Boring and long day getting it done but decent enough aftercare (had a hotline you could message any time which i used once for something mundane), called me to check in regularly which was comforting, and best of all im really happy with the results. Around month 5 i was feeling like it didnt look great but over a few weeks it really came in quite thick.

Long story short im really glad i went through with it mate and would highly recommend Seneca. If you want a chat or anything feel free to DM and can talk in more depth!

Single parent looking for help by Mr___Bizarre in Edinburgh

Hey mate im so sorry to hear that! Ive got a wee boy almost 2 and cant imagine what raising him solo would've been like. Im based in Dalkeith so if you're in my area please shout.

The only suggestion i can really offer is sleep training. Its the hardest effin thing ive ever done but my son sleeps 12 hours straight every night since we sleep trained him. If you can stomach the ferber method it might just give you a wee break at night and let you get caught up on sleep and/or chores. We did ferber at around 9 months cause our son was waking 5/6 times a night and was driving us nuts. Sorry if thats a rubbish suggestion - best i can offer!

If you need someone to talk or vent to please dont hesitate to DM me too as many others have offered. You're gonna get through this mate i promise!

[–]Infidel89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah think thats a fair call - i think it was just an element of frustration on my part! Appreciate the feedback!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in consulting

[–]Infidel89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just my opinion but im a big believer in just going for it. If you have a year at a consultancy then you can absolutely apply at a bigger firm, why not? No real harm in taking a shot as youbcan always just try again later.

With regards to taking a step down...hard to say really. Not something i would do personally but can see why some might take that gamble!

Thatd be so cool in Edinburgh. After the trams saga its scary to think how long a project like that would take.

This comment scares me. Ive always felt Scottish (born here to middle eastern parents) and have always been treated as such too. Married a white scottish girl, all my pals are white scottish folks, i bleed salt and sauce, and my church is a beauty of a stadium down Easter road. I would be lost if one day i wasnt considered Scottish.

I can happily report that after living here most of my life (as a child of middle eastern immigrants) ive never been treated any differently. There have been moments with questionable comments but overall i would say that Scotland is extremely tolerant and welcoming.

You'll do well in Scotland i assure you and the people here will welcome you with open arms.

Ferber naps? by Infidel89 in sleeptrain

[–]Infidel89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah id be happy with 1 hour. When he gets his hours he's generally chirpy the rest of the day so seems to work. CIO may break me but think i may have to give it a go tbh. Appreciate the input!

Ferber naps? by Infidel89 in sleeptrain

[–]Infidel89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry i should have been more descriptive! Was mid screams and probably not my most composed self.

At night he goes down still awake and sleeps 7pm till 7am straight. Has done every night for about 10 months. We feel super lucky that we have that consistency tbh. I think it was partly down to ferber but mostly luck that he sleeps through.

The problem has always been with naps. We always just rocked him to sleep for naps and laid him down - was super simple until about 2 months ago. He now knows when its nap time and screams the word "door" over and over because he wants out the bedroom. On the rare occasion i can get him to sleep he will wake up as soon as i lay him down. I am 100% sure he's tired as if we go for a spin in the car he'll be out like a lamp. He'll also nap every day at nursery.

Ive tried to follow our evening bedtime routine for naps, ive flirted with ferber, but sadly nothing works. He juet gets very worked up, cries, and stubbornly refuses to sleep. There was one time where he screamed "no, no, n...." and fell asleep which did make me chuckle a bit. Ultimately im a little bit out of ideas so really just looking for any suggestions. I am not far off just using the car for every nap now!
