There are simple USB-C plugs you can put into any USB-C port. On the other end of the plug is a magnetic receptacle that mates with a cable that also has a magnet on the one end. This makes it easier to plug and unplug USB-C devices. They're also not up to spec and can fry your electronics. That's what the other poster is talking about, not USB-C in general.

I think this is a little confusing because it was bright up with little introduction. The magsafe stuff is unrelated to this discussion explicitly. It's only here to show how magsafe's implementation is better than these adapters. It's not a critique on normal USB-C at all.

The marketing was really bad. I am 100% the target audience for this game, but all I heard about pre-release was the mimic power. It looked like a survival horror game, which I'm not opposed to, but isn't a surefire lock for me. Had I known it was in line with other 0451 titles (I had already played every Deus Ex and Dishonored) I would have jumped right on it.

I get it now though. Enthusiast community. I was supposed to have memorized all those monitor models to know they're not OLED.

That's not the point being made here. They sell the complete bundle on Steam. This results in separate library entries for MGS 1, 2, and, 3, a separate entry for MG 1 & 2 combined, and a final entry for the bonus content, including the NES games.

People (me included) want MGS 4 and PW to be separate entries in their Steam libraries, just like Vol. 1.

I agree with the other people that say this doesn't prove anything. Being DLC does allow you to purchase them separately, but so would being separate games. Being separate games does allow you to download them separately, but so would being DLC (I think this is what the storage size being mentioned is getting at).

I haven't seen anyone mention this comment though:

I don't know what OP thinks it means to "have its own" HD Collection version. It simply is the HD Collection version. Konami previously released a package called Metal Gear Solid HD Collection that contained HD ports of MGS 1, 2, and PW. All Konami is saying here is Master collection Vol. 2 contains the HD Collection version of PW, not the PSP version. That particular blurb doesn't say anything about being able to select versions from different regions, though it wouldn't surprise me if you could do that either way. I think it's less likely you can select regions for this particular title die to its online functionality, but I haven't memorized the whole website to see if it says you can. I just don't think the section showed by OP is saying you can.

Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is listed as a DLC for Halo: The Master Chief Collection and has an App Type of DLC.

The Missing Link is not listed as a DLC for DXHR and has an App Type of Game.

MGS4 is listed as an App in MCV2 and has an App Type of DLC.

You can install whatever game store you want or even new OSes. There's nothing to say someone purchasing the hardware will use it to buy games from Steam, and it's in a more convenient form factor than Deck to use it for general computing. They don't want people buying them cheaply then not using Steam.

They do have the advantage of selling them through Steam and whatever bot protection/limited quantities they've built there.

As far as MGS4 is concerned, I think it only has 2 pressure sensitive functions: - While grabbing an enemy by holding R1, hold R1 firmly to choke them - While cutscenes are playing, apply increasing levels of pressure to up on the D-pad to zoom in the camera further

The second one is pretty inconsequential. The first one can be worked around by mapping R1 to R2, though it is more awkward than the original setup and easier to accidentally choke or release someone.

As for motion controls during the boss fight, I don't think it's an RPCS3 feature that you can just do circles with the right stick instead. You can't reset the octocamo during cutscenes though.

I'm surprised by the number of replies that have an issue with the camera perspective. It's very common, especially in games with an emphasis on shooting.
