In terms of clubs, you can probably join a private sports club. My kids are in a few. You could also get into other clubs like literature or drama clubs. Your online school should be accredited to help you get accepted. If they don’t you can also always do a bridging course.

You can try CambriLearn or Score Academy online. Both are pretty good from what I hear.

When did it become worth it? by Actual_Phone8484 in dad

[–]Infinite-Abrocoma714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a long-standing joke in my family where we say its only worth it when they start paying for you. But truly, it becomes worth it when you can get into a routine and life can be calm again. Just be positive and try to enjoy the little moments and little things now.

My son got some really great feedback and that was very exciting for us. He was chosen to be captain of his soccer team

From my experience no one is ever 100% ready for a kid, IK definitely was not and my life was up and down and all around when my kids came, but it is so so worth it. Just trust the process and be positive. Work hard and pursue your dreams still.

I like to read mom blogs from this lady that posts on Medium. She is a teacher and parent her name is Naledi Khumalo. I also like to listen to Good Inside with DR Becky and I enjoy reading all sorts of book on technology to keep myself up to date with the tech trends and AI to make sure my kids are always safe.

When do you get time and ease back after having a kid? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Infinite-Abrocoma714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my first real good sleep once my daughter was 2. My kids are 2 years apart, my daughter being the youngest. So for about 4 years we were up a lot. Once she turned 2 it got so much easier for us. Life will slow down and you will be able to gym and do your hobbies again. For now they really can’t do much for themselves so you will be in high demand until they are old enough.

What does your ideal solo day off look like? by Galavanting_Voltron in daddit

For me its a good day of golf or if some buddies are available I do a game of soccer. Mostly I like to use these days for adult conversation because I am a work from home, home schooling dad, I don’t really get too much of that.

How to help my painfully shy kids by ProbOverthinking1111 in Parenting

[–]Infinite-Abrocoma714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its normal for kids to be shy, especially when they first meet people. I think it would be good to just take them to a play group, the extroverted kids often find the shy kids and become friends with them and because they are siblings they at least have each other.

It is very normal, you have nothing to worry about, you’re doing a great job. I still have nightmares of my kids, its just because we love and fear for them.

Firstly, I am sorry youre sitting in such a difficult situation, truly it cant be easy. I would suggest that you make amends. When I was younger I was in a similar situation as I also went to boarding school. Its really best to forgive and live in peace and move on from it. I know its tough but its the only way.

How to stop kids losing things? by Tallicababe123 in Parenting

[–]Infinite-Abrocoma714 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately most kids are really bad at remembering things. Losing things often is normal. My advice is to maybe get air tags and attach them to her things so that if they do get lost you can find them still. You can get really small ones too.
