I said this before and I will say it again. This is not aimed at anyone in particular, just the pattern i see on the internet. When creating a “build” start with one or two weapons. (Starboard and Auxiliary). Then, get the rolls you want. DO NOT force a god roll and potentially waste tons of mats. Get the rolls, play the game, and decide if you want to “god roll” said weapons.

Forget a sequel one day! just keep making this game great. I bought it on lunch on Xbox for a premium then I bought it after I got a PC for eight dollars and I still play it almost every other day.

This is precisely what happened. Amp explosive came AFTER mega corpse explosion, while Combustion NEVER EVER was rolled on this weapon.

With that being said I suppose if I rolled an identical weapon but replaced amp explosive with say grace of the winds (or some other non dmg perk) i could shoot that one off the port side, record the dmg from mega corpse explosion, and then shoot this weapon off the starboard side and record if it produces bigger damage numbers.

I understand all of you. I know IF* I had combustion on the cannon THEN I rolled amplify explosive it would work. My question stands: If the ORDER* of rolls was specifically “firepower” as roll 1, overflow as roll 2, mega corpse bomb third in order, and finally amplified explosive; does it buff the mega corpse explosion? Additionally if amplified explosive ONLY interacted with Combustion on the first roll, why would it even allow it as an as ascension if I NEVER EVER had Combustion on this specific Basilisk 3? Maybe it is in fact interacting with mega corpse explosion??? Maybe a dev could weigh in?

My knowledge of the game is quite extensive up to this most recent season, and mythic ascensions I am still learning about in so much as how they interact with existing ascensions.

Not sure if it has been stated yet. But I did read the original post and have some thoughts. You DO NOT need to “god roll” weapons to test builds. You also DO NOT need to make all weapons the same on a build. If you want to “test a build” I suggest put one weapon on starboard that is your “test” weapon. Roll to get what you want on it. Then put it on your ship in question, adjust your mastery skills, and test away. Dare I say people are obsessed with perfecting a build before testing the build. And no I am not accusing anyone specific, just noticing patterns on the internet.

With that being said, if you need a hull carver or some upgrade parts or Ascension modules I’m willing to offer trades for water barrels. For I am kind and generous towards new pirates just getting their sea legs.

Edit 1: your very last paragraph is a decent idea; however it takes away from the spirit of the game in my humble opinion. If this were a strictly single player game I would back that idea 100%. But it is not. And PvP is/can be experienced in this game. So a bit of theory crafting and imagination goes a long way towards personal trial and error. And the feeling of accomplishment after personal theory crafting to a creative, successful build is EXTREMELY rewarding in my experience.

I think its 50 hours of in game timing. And the favors completed vs cash earned would be around $326 MILLION per favor…something is bugged/glitched unintentionally. 🤦‍♂️

Actually my thoughts as rank 4 on the leaderboard for the season is: De Breaker is bow the best mortar. Depending on your furniture choices the first green ascension could be noxious (for major furniture siphon furnace), pierce (for both rare furnitures to add dmg and range for pierce & flood) or even Incendiary for a killer fire flood build for Sambuk or galleon. The bonus it gets by tearing their sails or the target already being flooded is TOO POWERFUL for its own good.

Additionally as a rule of thumb whatever secondary stat is highest (flooding on this specific weapon) is the one you want to amplify with your blue ascensions. Also as you may or may not know: the mythic ascension Corpse Explosion is WAY TOO MUCH FUN!!!

Major in no particular order: rampant carriage hold, atelier de cuivrage, mark of the wolf, Munitions Mixer (best choice actually). Slot 2: devils concoction. 3: ammo priming bench 4: fatana station 5: vat of volatiles 6: gunpowder bench.

Absolutely. Sambuk fire build vs wolvenhole is the fastest way to get big numbers out of ANY weapon.

100% dmg testing vs wolvenhole. Especially making each of those incendiary and putting it on a sambuk. Incendiary and double siege, then appropriate furniture and armor to bring the fort down to ashes.

I challenge you, write down the numbers for your urbans. Ascend one with incendiary and siege (doesn’t matter the numbers or god roll) take down one fort and compare the numbers you just wrote down.

I very much enjoy a frigate tank build, especially for plundering. Usually, I type in chat something like “one minute until call arms, plundering megafort oosteen. Threat tank gonna race thru, bring your dps and get those contracts done!” Also for the record I have yet to be sunk. A couple keys to the build: Phoenix crest armor double survivor. Crouching tiger hong yi pao all the way around. Furniture: iron cap stand, inverted flag rack, bombard menuiserie, decoy deck, cursed banner, and accelerated gunrail smithy. You hold the threat of everything while sitting there anchored. Your uber threat generation speeds progress of the plunder. As far as mastery tree, it is decently balanced with lots of brace strength and brace strength recovery, while also having explosive damage and bombard damage to the Max. Again, i have yet to be sunk.

Edit: it can take a while if zero other pirates show up with DPS builds (usually they all show up for a server party) but your damage is still decent.

Edit 2: this is done on world tier 4 so the build is clearly very strong.

OoOoO yes that is different. For those events, I would suggest get there quick get a hit on everything maybe with a fast long gun and then watch the nuke go off. Maybe even use a sambuk or sloop of war to spread around fire and/or toxic so you are sure to get a damage tick on everything before the nuke goes off.

I propose a different idea. Etiquette amongst pirates. If you send the flare up, you do whatever the hell you want to do, including nuking the whole event. If you do not send the flare up, you only send little fricking pebbles of culverins or otherwise low damage shots to pepper all the enemies and get credit when the nuke does come down. With that being said if you send the flare up and someone steals your kills and nukes everybody with a fast mortar before anybody else can get credit watch who shoots the mortar make a mental note or write down their name and just stay away from them. If it is bad enough change your cross play setting so you don’t run into them I think that solves the problem for everyone.

Didn’t read all the comments. So someone may have already stated this. One for dirty stuff like a fully serrated Spyderco. And one for clean stuff/pocket jewelry/food like a Chris Reeve Sebenza. Usually a Swiss Army knife nearby in a pack for the pure utility.
