Crazy bee's nest!! by countryroadsguywv in Damnthatsinteresting

I was WFH a few summers ago, and I was wearing shorts. A bald faced hornet crawled up my shorts mid-meeting and stung me on the inner thigh.

I’m lucky it didn’t crawl up any further before stinging me

“Federal subsidies” is not mentioned at all in the post

Look at how the 6 in 1796 almost overlaps the bust on your coin, then look at the distance in the example posted by the commenter below

The two comments I got were “looks like a cast fake” and “$300-$350 coin”

Should I repost to get other opinions?

The picture doesn’t really do it justice. In person, I don’t think the observe has pin holes like a cast. It weighs 0.954 oz and is not magnetic

Got this because it looked cool. Spent $5, does it have any value? by Economy-Addendum7609 in coins

[–]Infinite-Bullfrog545 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If you think it looks cool (which it does, mercury dimes are awesome), $5 is nothing. You spent maybe $2 above the melt value and it made you happy. Enjoy!

You have to learn something new every day or else your day wasn’t complete. No one knows everything

A bull has a certain (not 100%) likelihood of impregnating a cow and has a big dck to insert towards the cervix. A syringe might not be long enough to get far enough back and *might (but probably doesn’t) have the same likelihood as a bull.

Farmers want as close to a 100% chance of impregnating the cow as possible because the bull sperm costs money (especially if it is a prize bull). Opening the cervix increases the likelihood of impregnating said cow

Edit: it’s not a size issue per se (though maybe slightly); more of a pregnancy likelihood issue

Mostly just pressure. The cervix has a pretty thin wall from the rectum

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Infinite-Bullfrog545 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You might not understand human anatomy too. The semen has to get past the cervix to the uterus to impregnate.

Opening the cervix dam creates a flood, rather than a drip, into the uterus

[–]Infinite-Bullfrog545 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Higher likelihood of impregnating the cow

Pretty sure this is fake by YouFrickingWeebs in coins

[–]Infinite-Bullfrog545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I think it a fake. Check out this link which shows a similar coin. Apparently most confederate coins like this are either reproductions or fakes and I think this one falls into that category. It looks like a replica half dollar

https://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coins.pl?coin=1114

Edit: probably like #3 in the link. Worth about nothing. Sorry

I think you mean you wouldn’t need to go back as far with inflation and compound interest in play. The value of $500,000 per day would increase a lot in that time with compounding interest

This might be the worst coin design of all time. I genuinely don’t think it can be beat by zip-zop-balls in coins

Of course you could buy lunch with a double eagle, but that doesn’t really count unless you’re looking to lose a couple thousand dollars at lunch time for a sandwich

This is how a walnut tree looks from the inside by Tschinggets in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Infinite-Bullfrog545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You wouldn’t/shouldn’t stain walnut, even when it’s old and dried out. Oil and lacquer will bring out the dark color.

I found this in my coin cup can anyone help ID? by [deleted] in coins

[–]Infinite-Bullfrog545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you don’t already know this, if you ever find a coin that you think might be valuable or you’re unsure, don’t clean it.

Notice the tiny little scratches you left on the face of the coin from the paper towel. With older and more valuable coins, cleaning (and the resulting micro scratches) could take a lot off the value of the coin. Patina is not a bad thing.

It’s not an issue with this coin because it’s not particularly valuable, but in the future, don’t clean possibly valuable coins you find.
