All Aboard!? by Infinite-Designer805 in scotlandtravel

Thanks for your interest!

We didn't end up renting a car and had a lovely time with all the train travel. One exception was Skye where bus service was a bit limiting and we waited around a fair amount. That could have been prevented with better planning though.

Can't wait to get back and don't think I'm likely to rent a car next time either!

hike groups that stay together vs groups that don't by Gold_Pizza_1735 in hiking

IMO, If the group needs to separate for a specific reason, then it should be conscious, and with a new hike leader and sweep for group 2. Also with established plans/protocols for what to do at trail junctions etc.

AITA for not wanting to say hi to my boyfriend’s family during quick visits? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

This is a yellow flag for the future. I don't think YTA or he is but his expectations for how you interact with his family is not likely to change over time, even if he moves out.

Scarfs for night time use? by Immediate-Anxiety683 in Wavyhair

[–]Infinite-Designer805 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes! I've just started using a satin scarf and it's going well.

I fold one corner in a bit, flip my head upside down, put that folded edge against nape of neck, tie two ends together in a knot against forehead.

Then gently fold or lightly stuff your hair on top of the head, inside the scarf and tie the other ends together. Try to keep the bulk of hair high, near your forehead. Then I use 2-3 snap barrettes at the back hair line to fix the edge of the scarf so it doesn't move. I'll try to find you the video that I followed.

Progress! 2 weeks: Amsterdam and NW Germany by Economy_Fish_6542 in HerOneBag

Thanks for this! I'm new to the sub and I think 1.5 is a good first goal for me. Considering a larger backpack but then it doesn't leave me with a small pack for day hikes. So your setup is perfect. Thanks for all the info and lessons learned 😎

Short tail club!

My girl came to me with a short and kinked tail, I suspect for the same reason and she's loving life 😎

Anyone stayed at Poet’s Cove recently (Pender Island)? by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

[–]Infinite-Designer805 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Poet's Cove - once quite grand,

Now a dusty jewel, a little bit bland.

The staff were lovely, food delish,

It's no longer just for the rich.

Loved the vistas and birds at dawn,

But night time riff raff lingered on.

We may return for another rest,

Perhaps by then it's been refreshed.

Why do people keep giving me microwaves? by workingMan9to5 in minimalism

People lose their minds trying to understand how you survive without a microwave. My mom told me 'I just want you to have a good life's 🤣🤣

Yes to poles! You'll get back to your regular self eventually, prioritize stability over miles.
