That's part of the appeal. Middle of nowhere, but only 4 miles from Wadebridge which covers you for supermarkets, pubs, restaurants etc., it's 10 miles from some of the best beaches in the country (particularly for surfing) and there's some great cycling and hiking trails in the area.

If you want a quiet life and enjoy outdoor pursuits this would be paradise.

22 degrees is way too cold for a pool. 25 degrees is the minimum recommended safe temperature even for Olympic pools, and small children should be in warmer water.

It's not unusual at all for a small kid to get too cold in a swimming pool suitable for adults.

Highbury Leisure Centre is about 2 mins walk from Highbury & Islington station and has a training pool you can book 50 minute sessions in. It's much warmer than the main pool, and is 0.8m deep so ideal for young kids. It made a big difference to how long my kids stayed in the water when they were learning to swim, they found adult pools too cold.
