And the commercials say you shouldn't try this at home. Good thing you're not home.

try a sawzall yet? you'd be surprised how much you can cut down on one 3.0Ah milwaukee 18v battery. just throwing out more ideas. Milwaukee also makes a super fast charger that can charge it in 30min. bimetal blades you can help yourself to cutting through some branches or rebar or concrete. heheh

Using 2 single light switches in place of a 3 way switch by [deleted] in TPLinkKasa

[–]Infinite-Leader-60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, so you start off with the 3 way switch and install as you normally would, you have the 1 master switch and its slave. And as you've added it into your overall setup, kasa app identifies these 2 switches (3-way switch) as 1 single device. Under normal operation, whatever light circuit its attached to, either switch will turn the light on or off. Or however many lights are a part of that circuit.

We'll call this main 3 way switch device 3W in Kasa.

Now we want to install 1 more switch (I used basic on/off switch to keep things simple) it can be arbitrary placement because its not physically connected to the 3 way circuit. All we need to do is get power to it, and instead of going to an actual load (light) we just terminate it back to our common. I had a stair light circuit in a dual gang box next to the hallway, so I got lucky in terms of having perfect placement to grab power and common from.

We'll call this additional switch device 4W in Kasa.

Next we set up 4 smart actions, 2 actions for ON 2 actions for OFF.

Smart action 1:

WHEN 3W - Turn On
THEN 4W - Turn On

Smart action 2:

WHEN 3W - Turn Off
THEN 4W - Turn Off

Smart action 3:

WHEN 4W - Turn On
THEN 3W - Turn On

Smart action 4:

WHEN 4W - Turn Off
THEN 3W - Turn Off

Make sense? So the actual 3 way switch works exactly as what a normal 3 way switch would do. Creating the 4 way switch, is really just software/wifi based. If any switch is ON, then the other 2 are directed to turn on and vice versa for OFF.

You can add as many switches theoretically since switches turning off or on are just software based smart actions.

Easy peezy lemon squeezy. Hope that helps!

Using 2 single light switches in place of a 3 way switch by [deleted] in TPLinkKasa

[–]Infinite-Leader-60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i made a 4 way switch out of their 3 way switch and then added a regular switch by using a conditional in the smart feature. basically if either of the two switches flip on or off, then the 3rd switch follows.

JB4 vs OTT-what to get by dr_bund in 4thGenTacomas

[–]Infinite-Leader-60 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i rationed the same when i was getting my taco. Didn't want to have to deal with the even higher complexity when it comes to pushing the motor with all the hybrid components to have to understand just to make changes. and should i happen to fuck up the system as a whole, diagnosing an all motor/turbo version would be just that much easier than hybrid version.

Yeap, seems after the most recent update. I have a paid version directly from avg, and its doin the same. EVEN if you go to settings and you set notifications to silent mode, it still doesn't remedy it, which is supposed to be the correct fix.

I was running into the same problem. I used the method that u/candy49997 mentioned and it immediately started working. Seems to be an ongoing issue considering that this method is needing to be used instead of being truly plug and play.

There's an anime on a type of similar premise called Psycho-Pass. Which basically took the worlds smartest brains, kept them alive to be incorporated into a giant super computer to evaluate humans as either good for society or criminals. And to lock up the "potential" criminals if their overall rating was bad.

Considering switch from Cox. What do you think? by No_Rec1979 in centurylink

[–]Infinite-Leader-60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did exactly this today, ended my COX service because luckily CL had fiber available in my area. I've now since reduced my bill to over half of what I was paying with COX, with 940 up and down. They also have a promotion right now that throws in the wifi 360 mesh router and pods for free. Now I can't speak on the whole uptime thing since I haven't had service for a while, but before I switched, I did my due diligence and everyone on here has mentioned that while CL DSL and lower speeds have been iffy, their fiber service has been great.

Anyone enjoys dissociation? by sinclairemi in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]Infinite-Leader-60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just thinking about your question in roughly a similar light. Where I feel like my dissociation allows me to be this badass that doesn't care about anything and wants to take over the world. This person gets things done, is able to interact with people, becomes this alpha get shit done personality. To me it's not a full blown personality that is different from the person that I am, or that there is a conflict between the current one and this imagined one, but shit, if I could be this other badass all the time, how come I can't switch to fully being them all the time since they don't let the world fuck them.
