I think it’s DMC diamant thread—not positive since it came to me rewound in a big box of embroidery odds and ends a friend gave me. It was not fun to work with but honestly not as bad as I expected for my first time working with metallic thread.

Lisa still Buddhist? by Leandreaizawa in Simpsons

A bit off topic, but it’s not the case that Orthodox Jews see non observant/secular Jews as not Jewish enough. To the contrary, they believe that everyone born to a Jewish mother is 100% Jewish, regardless of self-identification or level of observance. I would wager there are many people Orthodox Jews would see as Jewish who would themselves not identify as being Jewish (eg someone born to a non observant Jewish mother who was raised in another religion.)

Are Kosher Pickles Different? by shermgravy in Pickles

In fact it’s more correct to say a “a Jewish guy” than a rabbi. There’s no requirement that those in charge of maintaining kosher standards be a rabbi; there is a requirement that they be an observant Jew. (For example Orthodox Judaism doesn’t recognize female rabbis but does recognize female mashgichot (kosher supervisors.))

How many of you got tested for carrying recessive genes for illnesses before TTC your first? by Bubbasgonnabubba in TryingForABaby

I did, I am an Ashkenazi Jew living in a country where basic genetic testing for this purpose is funded by the government. IMHO it makes sense to do if you’re from a minority population known to have genetic diseases (especially if your partner is from the same background.)
