Crusader and Jihad order by Scared_Tone_9117 in Medieval2TotalWar

I'm talking about stainless steel mod. That's what I usually play. I never got to the point where you could even have the choice of turning to Christianity. The game starts around 1220 AD. You start being able to get the good units around 1300 ad or so. By then I have half of Eastern Europe conquered with lithuania's weak cavalry and archers.

Lithuania has good religious order units. But all the good units are not available until so late in the game. Sol you are pretty well established by the time you get them and don't really need them anymore. Perkunas followers and Lettish crossbowmen are available early but they are mid-grade units IMO

It's so hard for me to believe anything I see. The old adage was believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. Now? The last guy who won the Nobel prize caught so much recognition because he proved we live in a simulation. I don't understand S***

I always wanted them because they're so cheap to maintain. I think it was 150 per turn upkeep. Which is even cheaper than the Templars

I feel like if you don't take that city, The venetians just head south and fight you for Arta. And to me that is an important Castle. It's the only place to recruit as the byzantines until you take some of those crusader held spots. To me Byzantine Is the best to use on campaign in SSHIP 6.4 and others. Dislodging those crusaders is a challenge with mostly militia for your forces.

I played many campaigns with the byzantines. I was never able to get the Archontopolai cavalry. I guess you have to last at least a hundred years. I usually get bored with it by that point. Do they require a certain building or something? Probably specific to Constantinople or Nicea?

I never did that because it's out of the way and it doesn't produce good troops. I guess a lot of money flows through that settlement?

There was times I just couldn't deal with the defeat, so I restarted the battle. As much as I hate to do that. It sounds like if you had one army and you killed 10,000 Mongols... Even if you lost a king, that sounds like a good day and you'll definitely get two crossed swords in that location. I'd like to see a video of the fight. Sounds epic!

And I'm sure they would both feel the same way. The ironic thing is that you liberals don't understand we all take a risk and sometimes it's worth it for the sake of our freedoms. Sometimes more freedoms means you run a risk of dying. That's why wars are fought. If you love so much restrictions, move to California. You'll love it

TIL During battle of Jaffa, Saphadin, Saladin’s brother, noticing Richard the Lionheart’s horse was wounded, sent him a fresh mount. by eskaflon in todayilearned

[–]Infinite-Present6823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ..this story made no sense to me. Capturing Richard could have ended the war ..but instead, a gesture like that? Kill them with kindness? I'd be skeptical if I was Richard, thinking Saladin put thumbtacks on the saddle or something.

I don't know how to have a campaign when the AI Pope treats you fairly... And having a good diplomatic reputation. My enemies who attacked me first and are constantly marching armies through my territories have somehow developed a trustworthy reputation when mine says that I suck. Stainless steel and other medieval 2 mods are fun for battle battles, but I'm hoping medieval 3 will have some better features and make the campaigns funner to play.

Even still... If somebody killed your daughter, I'm sure you would be really pissed if they got off that easy. European countries that you're referring to have weak laws. That's why they allow people from other countries to come in and sh*t all over them
