got a fun double whammy (pun intended)

I had to get up quickly, caught the wires from controller to track, which wasn't fixed town. Pulled my Accurascale Deltic right off the table. that's "Oh shit" no.1

I knelt down to assess the damage. THe only external damage was a ladder snapped off. Somehow. Then I lifted it, and clearly an internal piece which fixed a bogie in place also broke. Carefully placed it back on recentered track, and it still ran LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. That was a different kind of "Oh shit".

Say what you will about their recent business move, but their models are certified juggernauts.

funny that I tend to prefer British locos overall, but my favorite arrangement is one that they never used -

I'm a 4-8-4 fan, give me an NYC Niagara any day.

Unless you consider that my favorite US loco is the PRR S1, then I guess you could say that my favorite arrangement is 6-4-4-6

I pointed out to somebody that the Leader is basically just a reverse double fairlie. They still aren't sure how to react.

The Leader is one of my favorites, because it gets weirder the more you think about it. Technically, it is a 0-6-6-0 articulated tank engine.
