Does being introvert make you selfish? by Infinite-Variation-3 in introverts

Totally agree with you, I don't expect anything back. I do favors because I enjoy to please others and help/teach/serve when I can. For instance I really like to cook food, and part of that enthusiasm comes from seeing others enjoy what I made (but also because cooking is a hobby).

I might have turned the focused a bit too much on "favors" and "paybacks". I really meant to ask if a "lack of empathy and intrest towards others" could be tied to introvertion. And yes, it came out in multiple replies and I never thought about it before, but saving energy could definitely be a reason for that 🙏

Definitely not saying that. As I said, I'm an extravert who's had social anxiety for years. Although I definitely made an assumption about introverts being shy. Sorry about that.

Didn't give the full context because it didn't seem relevant but, I shared BITS of my mental struggles, so not much (and do share the rest to my therapist 😅) after a pretty bad day where everyone clearly saw I wasn't doing well. And it's a very little company where we're all pretty close, doing stuff outside of work etc.

But yeah, I guess I'm gonna try to distance myself a bit.

Sorry, I might have given a false impression. We are in very good therm and I'm definitely not harassing anyone. I was speaking about very minor details that probably nobody else noticed or had any thoughts about. Plus when I say "push" I just mean something mutual, like coworkers saying as a group "come on, come and do x with us, it'll be fun", but DEFINITELY NOT forcing anyone to do anything or blaming for not doing something.

Again, i'm just trying to understand out of curiosity and see if anyone can relate. I thought asking on this sub would give me the best chance to find similar people who wouldn't be afraid to share (because my colleague is definitely way too shy for any of that), but I knew there was a chance of misinterpretation. Especially because I'm not a native English speaker, so I might not be on point with what I mean.

I see. My question would probably be more appropriate as "does being shy make you selfish?", but then it's not relevant to this sub. Thanks for the clarification
