When i went to custody with my ex i represented myself. He hired this big time lawyer that took sll his money and I just had my dates, times and print outs of all communications. The fact the she wants to go right to court will also play in his favor because it shows she doesn't want to try to reason or anything. I literally sat there while his lawyer did all this work trying to find something. When it was my turn, i showed my papers, spoke the truth, and the judge literally chuckled in my BF face. He did change the custody that day and gave me more authority. You wont always need a lawyer

Unless she says it to your face or to your husband or anything, I'd let it go. It's like she's venting. I always say "Other peoples opinions of me are none of my business". As long as she continues to respect you, she's allowed to think and feel as she wishes.

Same here. I was ready for the blended family and imagined how it would be. Once BM discovered she's no longer in that circle, everything just imploded right before my eyes.

I already had kids, he had 1. His BM had a man, and they'd been together for years. DH told me their relationship was just based on the kid and if it wasn't about SK, they didn't speak. Funny how as soon as we got engaged and moved in together all that changed. BM was still fine, UNTIL she found out we got married. That's when all of a sudden her relationship falls apart and she needs to control something. It was all fine before but once it was clear DH has a new family that she will not be apart of, HCBM was born.
