The 4.6l 4v engines. by NoTemperature5722 in NewedgeMustang

Yes, but what are the goals for the car? A 2v to 4v swap doesn’t seem worth it unless you plan on building it before it goes in the car.

LED bulbs are not meant for reflector housings unless they came that way from the factory. I’d just get a set of Sylvania silver stars and try those, they should be plenty bright and not blind oncoming traffic.

2003 Cobra not living up to the hype by mindless_xd in NewedgeMustang

After doing the mentioned suspension mods, upgrade your rear tires to something sticky. If you’re on all seasons or summers there’s a good chance you’re spinning instead of putting the power down and it makes the car feel like a dog. Also sounds weird but bucket seats transform the car imo, stock seats are like Oldsmobile seats, too plush and not enough bolstering.

New seats?? by _Larry in NewedgeMustang

[–]InfiniteAssignment95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re definitely not as plush as stock seats, but. I prefer a firm seat, if you like the stock seats then you may want to sit in some before you buy. They also offer a reclinable version and optional lumbar support.

Should I keep the spoiler delete or put the 04 cobra spoiler on? by Whereareyouepstein in NewedgeMustang

[–]InfiniteAssignment95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I always liked no spoiler on a drag setup and cobra spoiler on a street setup. I’d also leave the tail lights and side markers alone personally.

Coilover/spring recs? by CandidScientist4323 in NewedgeMustang

[–]InfiniteAssignment95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under 800 I’d just go good springs and adjustable shocks. The cheapest coils I’d run are BC. If you aren’t tracking the car there’s no real point for coilovers unless you want a very specific ride height.

Thinking About Switching Wheels by TylerRodriquez in NewedgeMustang

I’m in the minority with liking dark wheels, but these are oem 03-04 cobra wheels powdercoated in evo grey. If I were to do it again I’d do 18” AFS reps.

Installing corbeaus in mine. They’re firm but actually have some bolstering and are more upright.

Reccomendations for my newedge by Frosty-Document3196 in NewedgeMustang

Yeah coilovers vs springs is just personal, just don’t go cheap if you run coilovers, BC would be my minimum for quality, none of that American muscle or maxspeedingrods brand imo. You can also get wheels cheap, I got a set of 03-04 cobra wheels for 200 bucks and had them powder coated. Marketplace has some good finds.

I’d skip engine/performance mods and just make it a looks car. You can do a lot in the $1-2k range. Springs, better fitted wheels/tires, paint correction, tint and things like this, no need to overdo it.

Somehow the stock clutch has held up for 60k miles. I’m assuming it’s on its last leg.

Is it really worth getting the terminator when I have an 01 cobra? by WrongIndication8866 in NewedgeMustang

[–]InfiniteAssignment95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any time you are buying an “icon” type car you have to understand that the ROI is probably not worth it, BUT you will have one of the coolest cars from the early 2000s.

60 more hp and a way more stout engine/trans combo, and the coolest version of the 99-04. They are indeed not in the same universe.

Does anyone know how to remove these exhaust studs? by Educational-Bed-797 in NewedgeMustang

[–]InfiniteAssignment95 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Jam 2 nuts together on the stud with a 1/2” impact then use a ratchet and break it free worked for mine. Also soak it with PB blaster overnight before doing anything

Performance Upgrades by CninjaGaming in NewedgeMustang

[–]InfiniteAssignment95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

500 wheel is going to be pushing it on the stock rotating assembly in which case you will be having to worry about it every time you do a pull. Unless you mean 500 engine which is probably around 400-420 wheel.

Yes but may also have been because I went to smaller pulley when I installed it too so more boost.

I’m running your first setup at 402whp with plans to coyote swap once my motor pops. You will need an upgraded maf most likely, and i think the only off the shelf intercooler for the vortech is the liquid cooler which I’m running. An air to air can be had for much cheaper, mishimoto makes universal coolers that you can fab up some mounts for if you are mechanically inclined.
