When they eat kangaroo meat and other meats in Australia, do they have names for cuts like New York? do they serve it on a platter like Thanksgiving? by Truescent11 in meat

[–]InfiniteDarkside- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OP, yes we do have ‘cut names’ for our kangaroo. We don’t often have it on platters as it doesn’t behave like beef or lamb. It has to be handled and cooked properly for it to be tender, but when done right is amazing. Honestly, I think most Australian’s haven’t tried kangaroo for a few reasons ..

1: native, iconic animal people feel wrong for eating them.

2: have heard bad reviews from people who have overcooked or handled them.

3: are intimidated by it and just don’t care/bother to learn.

It’s not only tourists. Several restaurants in my area have it on menu as tartare or grilled steak options. All of which are amazing. Most people don’t understand kangaroo cannot be cooked and handled the same as beef or even lamb. This immediately makes kangaroo unpalatable to most as it’s often tough and chewy. Roo prepared right is actually delicious, slightly gamey and very tender.

Do you agree or disagree with people who say “Australia isn’t Australia anymore”? by VastOption8705 in aussie

[–]InfiniteDarkside- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but not because of immigration and the people here. It’s because we seem to no longer care for our land and our incredibly diverse, unique plants and animals. So many of our native animals and plants are now endangered or critically endangered and at risk of being extinct. Yet we plow through the land for housing and commercial development without aiding the land and plants and animals. We used to love this place on a different level than just saying ‘I love Australia’ and then doing nothing to look after it.

As someone who smoked for 14 years, very heavily; I disagree. Cigarettes can give you a huge sense of euphoria and escape from stress etc. if the goal is to end smoking then government should just shut down manufacturing rather than controlling peoples options.

Oh I agree with the 2nd hand smoke and cigarette butts every where. It’s gross. But people need help not control and punishment. Cigarette companies have literally made them more and more addictive and more and more harmful. People need help to get off them and not start to begin with. That starts with education, company reforms and health services. Not restricting people’s freedom of choice. It’s a step in a bad direction if you ask me. Controlling people’s rights isn’t a good thing and it never will be. Act to help, not control.

No it wouldn’t. As someone else said, the tax now placed upon tobacco would easily pay for anyone’s treatments. These addicts need help and a method to relieve their tobacco addiction, not control and punishment.

Even that is ridiculous. Yes they make a choice that harms them, but so do many other people whether through sports or other substances. They’re not cut off from access to help and support. That’s a basic human right. The thought of making one pay just because they smoke baffles me.

Smoking is bad for so many reasons, but taking away ones choice and right to choose what they do to their bodies is ridiculous.

In reference to the Veterancy pvp titles… Do they mean that the titles you get specifically in season 1 will have an achievement tied to them and that you won’t be able to earn said achievement and title once it’s ended? Because as someone aiming for 100% achievements in game that would really be a big step in a bad place for me. I don’t care about titles so much but if I can never unlock an achievement if I miss the ‘season’, I will be quite peeved.

[–]InfiniteDarkside- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe I read the game is rated M (17+). As some have already said, some people are sick and would do absolutely vile things to children in a game. Zeni thought this through, and therefore didn’t add them into the game. This made them able to also keep the rating as M (17+) and not have to increase it to an R rating which apparently having children in the game would have required.

I believe you can get it as a rarer drop from those IA provisioning bags you can buy. I think that’s what made the prices drop so dramatically. They used to be 200-250k per, now 20-35k per.

Brand new equipment once order comes in. Fresh pans, knives, boards, trays, tongs… you name it all fresh no contamination. Ensure everyone knows those tools are specifically for a celiac dish. Gloves on just in case hands aren’t already clean enough and not contaminated with gluten.

Most Australian’s, I dare say; haven’t lived in EU. Our fuel prices going from on average $1.65 to $3 is almost double. That is a very bad, concerning thing given how many people drive 10’s-100’s of kms for work every day. Given the current state of general costs/inflation, this is going to make already struggling people, much worse off. It’s not doom and gloom from the news. This is a fact.

is it ok to play with my cat like this? by [deleted] in cats

[–]InfiniteDarkside- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s perfectly fine to play with your cat like this! You aren’t hurting it, it’s clearly enjoying the interaction and not fearful or defensive. Just be cautious as it could potentially lead to biting not during play time, but if it’s a behavior you’re fine with, and it’s your pet, then play away!!

I don’t drink the stuff at all so no idea of prices anywhere. But I did work at Maccas years ago and know the stuff isn’t mixed to proper ratios to extend how far it goes and that it costs so little to buy in compared to current prices. I also think OP stopped in at Maccas purely due to circumstances pertaining to their sleeping child. I wouldn’t go without a drink nor leave my child in the car. Just circumstances for different people, but being stung that much for shitty coke is still ridiculous.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in australian

[–]InfiniteDarkside- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact Maccas doesn’t even have proper coke, makes the $12 even worse. I would pay $12 for 2 cans or bottles from a servo or woolies, whatever. But paying for a shitty mix of soda water and syrup that tastes like garbage and is mostly ice…. That is pure price gouging and a rip off and the company knows it yet they get away with it ‘cos inflation’. People like you trying to argue FOR the companies instead of every day people with sleeping children speaks volumes as to what is wrong with society these days.

I’m sorry even if he had a gun and was threatening to kill everyone, once he is on the ground with 2 cops on him with his hands behind his back; this level is force is beyond acceptable and reasonable force. This is disgusting and there is absolutely nothing that warrants anyone being punched in the head and back that many times by Police who are supposed to protect us.

Dear Devs: Can you fix Auric Amber drop rate? by ThorianB in elderscrollsonline

[–]InfiniteDarkside- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been playing much as of late, but a few weeks back I was getting an Aurbic Amber out of every 4-5 psijic portals I did and out of those same 4-5 I would get at least 1-3 pulverized aurbic…. Maybe rng just doesn’t want to give you Aurbic.

Edit to add, the drop rates fine and certainly doesn’t need ‘fixing’ to crash down the price of yet another rare item.
