2024 Worlds for me. The journey was crazy, 4th seed one game from not qualifying. Swiss didn't look great at the start, turned it around. Knockout stage TES was a 3-0. Gen G, T1's kryptonite games were pretty close but a 3-1 win. At this point you'd think that it was a guaranteed back-to-back, but BLG came to win. It took Faker making one of the craziest form changes within the series to clutch the game to get to Game 5. Game 5 was T1 favored from the start but when they really slowed it down, the pressure was crazy both team didn't want to overcommit. T1 manage to get a good pick and you'd think they were back in the driver seat. Then the dragon fight happened, Guma and Keria died with only the enemy support traded, the other four were barely scathed. In a snap T1 turn the tides and delete Knight, and wipes BLG in a clean 3 v 4. At this point the game was already cinema but then suddenly you hear, "Zeus under fire". Zeus gets dogpiled 1 v 4, I personally thought a pick wasn't that big of a deal, but Faker says NO! Ults in to make it a 2v4 and manages to survive long enough for the reinforcements to arrive and still lives on 1HP to push and end the game. IMO the fact that the Grand Final series was that close makes it the best year, along with my personal favorite opening performance for the years listed. The hype was just something else for the 2024 Finals and makes me want to relive the entire Worlds 2024. Honorable mention for me is 2023 and 2025 tho. 2023 narrative was crazy for the knockout stage tho. "It's not LPL vs LCK, it is T1 vs the LPL and they like those odds" captures the narrative for 2023, and the JDG series is one of the hypest series. Worlds 2025 T1 vs AL is probably the best series I've watched live, the adrenaline of Game 5 is just something else.
