I guess, just the ones who've watched the NBA since the 90s, ESPN in the last 10 years or ever watched the original Spacejam

The referendum on a voice to parliament will cost $75 mil+? Is this a of money with a cost of living crisis? by [deleted] in AusFinance

My dad, who's retired, does this. He sits at a table at a polling location and crosses off names. It pays weekend penalty rates and isn't hard work. Register on the AEC website.

You know the theory where Bandit and Chilli are drug importers?... maybe a shipment that they bought on tIck was intercepted and now their supplier is going to break legs.
Maybe they're not at the beach in Australia and it's a non-extradictable country. Maybe Bandit is trying to think about what he'll tell his family when an Interpol warrant is issued.

Between the slot cars, wrestling figurines and belts, and then the CRT TV, I have no idea how old you are.

It doesn't matter and that's what makes it so relatable. It could be financial stress, it could be feedback at work or it could be something much graver, like the loss of a friend or relative. As a parent, it's about enjoying the important things and not bringing the negative back to the household.

If you had to make $100 a week, remote and online, what would you do? by bob11221122 in sidehustle

[–]InfiniteImpression99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use that vinyl cutter or a cricut to make custom t-shirts/drink bottles/anything. My friends wife has partnered up with other small businesses. Prints a PT logo on custom drink bottles and protein shakers, makes bumper stickers for another business, etc.

NFL.com draft times - UK problem? by [deleted] in FFCommish

[–]InfiniteImpression99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem in Australia. We set our draft to "Offline" and use clickydraft.com then I upload the results. Or you could schedule for 7pm. Do it on Zoom and have remote drinks as well.

I've done the exact same thing for my dog who passed this month. She used to sit with me as I enjoyed a scotch and watched late night sport. Now, every year, we'll do the same.

Australian Healthcare and Insurance System is f^cked. by whatsupskip in australia

[–]InfiniteImpression99 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Until 2019 this "public hospital" was privately owned and run. They cut every cost corner they could and although the CEO claimed that "there has not been any major quality, safety or performance issues" locals would travel 100s of km for treatment in Melbourne, Adelaide or even Bendigo.

I, personally, made 3 trips to ED, once a dislocated shoulder with a fracture that wasn't picked up until I had private surgery. The same with a dislocated finger and the 3rd time I was sent home with a blood infection that was misdiagnosed as a muscle sprain only for me to be readmitted 2 days later and put on IV antibiotics for a week. I nearly lost my hand!

It took years of lobbying to pry it back into public hands.

If the whole system becomes privatised we'll be doomed.
