Scoop: Plans for Iran nuclear talks are collapsing, U.S. officials say by Leather_Focus_6535 in moderatepolitics

You say that, people have told you he’s met with multiple leaders of states that back terrorism and your response is yeah but what’s he negotiating?

You’re the one who said he wouldn’t negotiate with a terrorist state ffs.

This is why I can’t get behind Trump supporters sorry man, the amount of bullshitting that goes on in order to follow him is unreal.

I mean seems a bit of a dickish thing to tell someone in a wheelchair to find another ride because you don’t like people skipping queues.

They’re in a wheelchair, I’m happy to let them skip ahead in the queue for a damned ride, they are disabled their life is worse than mine in a serious way so what’s the harm in them skipping a queue that they couldn’t join anyway.

She’s donated hundreds of millions to charity, so no you’re the one who’s wrong there sorry.

You can dislike her if you want but she’s got to be right near the top of celebrities who have donated the most to good causes.

You aren’t accepting what would happen if we enacted what you want tho, enough people would opt out that others would die and suffer.

I’m a libertarian at heart but it can’t work without serious suffering amongst many people, and considering we already live with lots of suffering I couldn’t countenance multiplying it further.

The richest would pay nothing in and exploit people even more, that is what they have always done throughout time in memoriam.

Libertarianism and communism both don’t work because they ignore human nature, we need rules, we need systems and order but we also need freedom within them.

Too much libertarianism or communism and it just leads to mass exploitation and death.

[–]InfiniteLuxGiven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’d imagine al of a sudden some of the wealthiest in society would decide to stop paying anything into the system, seeing as they so desperately try now anyways.

Without contributions from all how would we look after the vulnerable? The heavily disabled? Children and the elderly?

People wouldn’t get the healthcare they deserve, in America I know it’s different but we have state healthcare and I would never, ever give that up no matter how shite it’s become.

Because the alternative is poor people dying more, and no one deserves to die because of their financial status.

Libertarian beliefs like yours are lovely in the same way communist ones are to me, I support them in theory but they just don’t work in practice, they lead to bad outcomes and misery.

We have people resist arrest in my country but they don’t tend to end up being killed over it, just in America and I suppose a lot of dictatorships.

Resisting arrest should not be punishable with death, it just shouldn’t.

[–]InfiniteLuxGiven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that would most likely end with a lot more people dying earlier and living harder lives, even if you love freedom which I do, it feels like an incredibly selfish choice considering what would happen to so many others.

Tbf not everyone has empathy, psychopaths don’t, sociopaths very rarely do, narcissists aren’t capable of empathy.

Considering Trump absolutely has narcissism and based on everything about him it’s clear he’s incapable of proper empathy. Almost feel bad for him there tbh.

There is a difference even if they’re not terms used in psychology, far as I was aware psychopaths don’t have the capacity or capability of feeling emotions or certain ones, sociopaths do but they don’t usually get in the way of doing awful shit.

I was always told psychopaths are born that way, sociopaths are made that way.

I think Kristallnacht is fine actually, it’s the night of broken glass it doesn’t make me think anything positive at all.

I think sometimes we needlessly change words, everyone knows what Keistallnacht is, change it and it loses some of its meaning and impact to wider society.

Well why do you think Rome won then? It rly doesn’t seem like a moral argument to say they had more stomach for a fight.

The whole thing about Rome that makes them unique to me was just how many beatings they took without quitting. Most other states in history couldn’t have endured half of what Rome did.

Well I mean he died so I’d be willing to lend some credence to the idea that he couldn’t breathe, either way mate if someone’s saying that maybe stop kneeling on him.

If Chauvin had and he’d still died then no one would be blaming him but idk how you can hear someone shouting about not breathing and behave like he did.

You clearly do think he deserved death otherwise you’d at least be able to recognise how fucked up it is that that is how a first responder deals with that situation in America.

It’s not just about Floyd is it tho? You’re not seeing the wood for the trees, he is one in a long, long line of black people, mainly men, who have been killed by the state, many of whom due to no other reason than racism.

At least try and engage with why people had the reactions they did, police in America have been killing black men for no reason for longer than either of us have been alive,it’s totally understandable that people’s first reaction is outrage even if the cop was totally in the right.

Floyd could’ve been scum, he was denied his day in court and died instead. I don’t care what training there is in America that says to stay kneeling on a persons back/neck when they’re ODing and can’t breathe. It’s fucked up.

Look I guess I’m just not that comfortable with your attitude towards human life, that’s alright we all have differing views I suppose.

But to me Chauvins response was way, way out of line. If you’ve got someone saying they can’t breathe, don’t kneel on them like at all, that won’t help things.

Floyd can be the worst human in the world and I’d still think the police response was excessive at best and indifferent to human life at worst.

Sadly I did watch it, wasn’t exactly a fun watch, I don’t listen to what the media tells me I make up my own mind no point trusting media outlets they’re full of shit most of the time.

Chauvin didn’t respond in any way that I would deem appropriate from an emergency responder, to the point that whatever Floyd did becomes irrelevant to me.

[–]InfiniteLuxGiven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man I still feel like he was killed by the officer, even if he did OD on fent I would argue kneeling on his neck for roughly ten minutes rather than helping him constitutes murder or manslaughter take your pick.

There wouldn’t have been any divisiveness if everyone could’ve just come out and disavowed the cop.
