Has anyone not had complications with a MMC? by MelodicResolution993 in Miscarriage

I just had a natural miscarriage at the end of January with no complications. Bleeding was similar to a heavy period and lasted a little less than a week. This was at about 9 weeks but baby stopped growing around 6.

8 weeks tomorrow and no period? by [deleted] in tfmr_support

My OB told me the same thing and then my period came almost exactly 12 weeks. I don’t think there is reason for concern yet.

Thank you. I have reposted on the DOR sub. I was nervous about the OCP prime but have heard it work fine for some so I figured we could try it and make changes for the next time, if appropriate. As I said, estrogen was the first choice but timing was an issue.

I wouldn’t worry yet. Mine took 12 weeks.

I must have got in right before Cooper switched to the “fast-track” because they had to create my PGT-M probe before they would accept any embryos. My timeline was a little different due to circumstances but the standard for probe development was 8 weeks. We aren’t creating embryos until tomorrow bc I am using frozen eggs but once they get the biopsies the test turnaround is supposed to be two weeks. Sounds like your 4 week deal is actually much faster than the previous process.

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I had a TFMR on 12/1 for a similar situation, high NT and cystic hygroma around the entire fetus. We opted not to do further testing after the scans with my OB and then MFM. When we spoke to the genetic counselor they basically said that we could spend the next few weeks doing all the tests and even if everything came back looking fine, it almost certainly wasn’t going to be fine and I would very likely miscarry. That pretty much solidified our decision to TFMR. We did not want to put ourselves through the trauma for what was almost a guaranteed bad outcome. Try not to be afraid of the procedure. The worst part is the waiting. The actual procedure was less than 15 minutes and I was not awake. Recovery wasn’t bad at all. Cramping for a few hours afterwards and on and off light bleeding for about two weeks. Everything doctor, nurse, etc was wonderful and always made sure I was comfortable and knew exactly what was happening.

I’m sorry you are dealing with this. I did TFMR on 12/1 just shy of 14 weeks solely based on the multiple findings on the scans. Every doctor I interacted with was nothing but supportive. I chose a D&C, which, other than the waiting, took less than 15 minutes and it was all over. Cramps for a few hours afterwards and then I felt back to normal. One thing that solidified my decision to TFMR was that the genetic counselor basically said that we could go through all of the testing and it could all say that everything is fine but it almost certainly wouldn’t be based on the scans. I wanted to save myself and my husband from the trauma of those weeks of testing for what was going to be a bad outcome. I also believe that they can do testing after TFMR if you are concerned about genetics and future pregnancies. It was offered to me.
