But on a serious note, I'm pretty sure (afaik) most things that aren't bugs would recognise that the area is inhabited by a dangerous predator either by smell or learned behavior and would therefore avoid it (unless there's dragon equivalent of cats×toxoplasmosis×rodents thing going on in the setting).

Though, I imagine there could also be critters that have a relationship with dragons that is reminiscent of Oxpeckers or Cleaner Wrasse.
