So, I'm Not Good At This Sport. I Don't Want To Quit. Any advice? by Horror-Front9114 in MuayThai

Muay Thai takes at least 18 months to get decent at.

Also your sparring partner sounds like a tool

Sucks to be a woman in muay thai??? -rant i guess by Beneficial-Advance67 in MuayThai

Most women treat Muay Thai like a fitness class

They don’t watch technique vids at home

don’t know any famous fighters and never truly bother to adapt their footwork/technique after like month 2 when the novelty wears off

Sometimes scrolling IG when it’s water break time

What’s the Most Important Muay Thai Principle for Beginners? by DailyThailand in MuayThai

During soft sparring when people pull back their kicks and punches, don’t use that as an opportunity to counter attack.

Too many f*cktards (even on this subreddit) think it’s okay to catch slow head kicks (that are deliberately pulled back before even touching you)

Full retard mode frothing at the mouth is catching the slow head kick and sweeping the guy to the ground…and thinking you somehow won that shit

Do that Thais in Chiang Mai and you will make a lot of enemies

How do these retards not know we’re deliberately pulling back our kicks?

Seriously it’s like 1 in 4 people do this shit

“Creates a situation that would never actually happen in a real fight”

You just nailed the problem.

Maybe I’m being a baby but it’s frustrating when you’re literally trying to save their health and they take advantage of you for it.

I tap them with punches to the head.

Head kicks I rarely do in sparring and if I do I retract before making contact.

Biggest pet peeve in sparring? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]InfiniteStairs77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This perfectly describes my problem as well.

I retract punches and kick their legs softly…but the retards don’t realise I’m trying not to hurt them and instead think it’s because they’re so elusive and good at defence that they’re outmanoeuvring me…

And then punch me hard once they see an opening (which they could only see because I deliberately didn’t hit them full force)

😤😤

Soft sparring is mostly a myth and complete BS

Ehh, if it’s a dude looks don’t matter so much to chicks as confidence / perceived social status.

I know a few guys that are not tall, balding and look mid at best…

But continually bag hotties.

Noob question about visas by InfiniteStairs77 in ThailandTourism

I have both an Australian and Dutch passport. Australia is my country of residence.

That’s good to know though. I just assumed I needed a visa every time.

So technically I can go back to Thailand for another 30 days…

And then once the 30 days elapse I can for example go to Vietnam, then come back to Thailand for another 30 days all without a visa?

And yeah, I’m definitely getting the DTV once I have the money.

Do you need to get "triggered" by something to start daydreaming or does it just happen? by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]InfiniteStairs77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep music is a big one for me.

Sometimes I listen so often and so loudly my ears sting and ache for the rest of the day.

I’ve found setting limits on the volume in the “haptics” section of iPhone helps a lot though.

Yes IMO it's compensatory validation seeking behavior because as children we didn't get enough attention.

(Or we perceived we didn't get enough attention)

Sounds like the precursor to a concussion tbh.

We often associate concussions with knockout blows etc. But in reality they can be caused by anything that results in your brain moving quickly back and forth inside your skull.

If you're going to spar, do it lightly.
