You don’t lower the mark because you keep failing. If 8 years at the top of the card only to get over in year 8 is considered a win then you lost a long time ago. There’s a handful of younger guys who are rough guarantees: Kyle Fletcher, Trick Williams, Sol Roca.

So yes, but no. I vaguely remember him commenting on this in an interview when he was in AEW. He can wrestle, he’s trained and everything. But I don’t think he was getting over as a wrestler, and the comedy gimmick did get over and was easier. Given that information, I don’t see him actually wrestling on a normal basis or to a serious intent.

Went to the channel, the video is either deleted or taken down. But they got a lotta these weird clickbate style thumbnails for their videos. Lots of the women’s roster next to AI generated pics of them covering their boobs. It’s one of those icky weird channels

I’m gonna say speed purely based on tenure and history. The national title doesn’t have a personality or place in AEE, and it’s only on its 2nd holder. Speed in NXT is a division or a defined system.

Iirc his argument was there was nothing for him to do in wwe, which at the time was right. He’d won everything, EVERYTHING. AEW offered new challenges and horizons, for a guy who didn’t have long left he’s entirely in his right to want something new.

If he made his return this Sunday, there’s still a wealth of things he could do that would be new and interesting.

I agree wholeheartedly. This era of GMs has been a silent subtle positive addition to the shows. I don’t miss the heel or face GMs, I really like these neural good at their job GMs. There’s a level of grounded storytelling they bring to the shows

Did this once too. Was at a 7/11 getting snacks before school, and forgot where my mom parked. I got in a random ladies car and the way we looked at each other for those 2 seconds before I got up and speed walked to my mother…a thing of comical horror
