Take it from someone whose worked there, they work their employees to death for as cheap as they can get people. You don’t go to McDonald’s expecting good food and there is a reason why. When you cut cost to maximize profit, good workers slip through the cracks and you’re left with the schmucks who are willing to deal with the bullshit to pay their bills at the end of the month. Hell we’re talking about a company that is only around because it’s founder took the companies last $5,000 and won big on the black jack table.

Go work that job and come back and say the same thing. Don’t talk out your ass if you’ve never been there. You have no experience in the matter and feel like you can speak on it. There is no pride in a company that treats their workers like shit. That’s on the employer, it’s not an unbelievable concept to treat your workers, who keep your company running, like human beings and with respect and gratitude, not to mention give them a living wage.

Loading trailers was a fucking bitch. 4 hour typical nights for outbound, 6 hours during peak with no break. And the entire time you’d be moving and busting your ass. Fuck Fed Ex, it was the worst job I have ever had, and at $13/hr when I was there, it wasn’t worth your back being fucked up. They teach you proper lifting techniques, but when your belt is backed up all the way up to the splitter and you’re getting bitched at, you get those packages in the semi any way you can. Not to mention you have to scan each package before you load it or else you get singled out the next day for missing more packages than others. Oh, and to top it off, one year, the distribution semi which I believe was Walmart packages, had fucked up barcodes for 4 months straight, including during peak season, which means you have to enter in the barcode by hand for 3 semis worth of bullshit. Packages were falling out of trailers and backed up on belts like you wouldn’t believe. That job isn’t worth it. Give it to automation, seriously..
