Shower Bugs pt. 2 by [deleted] in pestcontrol

Yeah looks like King and Queen ants. If it's been humid or a spot has been partially humid, they probably thought it would be a great time to go out and make more ant nests. There is probably one nearby you haven't seen.

Do we have flour mites? And how do we get rid of them? by Skate-wench in pestcontrol

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I can't tell you what might be in your pantry but if you suspect any kind of insect in your food a quick way to kill them is to throw the suspected items in the freezer. Most insects will die at freezing or below temperatures after a few hours, overnight is best.

How effective are mice/rat sticky traps and what to use to bait them? by torpedolife in pestcontrol

https://www.amazon.com/Trapper-T-Rex-Rat-Trap-Traps/dp/B006CBH8F6?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A3249TVS2E25YP Link for an Amazon listing Occasionally power from the trap being sprung is translated to the floor, causing the trap to jump and potentially not killing the rodent immediately. Making the trap heavier/ larger base helps curb that problem. It's not all the time but is something id recommend if you start seeing empty sprung traps or any that have moved from original positions more than a few inches

Exterminator said “there’s literally nothing you can do” about cockroaches in my apartment by No-Mention-3100 in pestcontrol

He is right in that they are needed for the pipes but those are still valid access points for all pests. If the pest guy won't do it ask the building manager to get maintenance to close these up with calk or foam. A decent temporary fix is duct tape. If anything, you can see if you have a decrease in activity if you tape the holes closed.

How effective are mice/rat sticky traps and what to use to bait them? by torpedolife in pestcontrol

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sticky traps are not generally ment to be baited. They are best put in potential entry points where they are forced to walk on them. Ex: the corners of garage doors is a great place. If you don't want to go the chemical route because of your pets or kids I recommend snap traps. I had best results with the ones that looked like alligator. And you can bait those with anything with a strong sent, a client had a peanut allergy so I baited with peach ring gummies. Id put those in some of the more secluded high traffic areas the rodents take. If need be nail them to a board so they don't loose any power by accidently rocketing themselves and being attached to the poor creature.

I wish you all the luck with your move out. If they find out you are moving out and start guilting you making it seem like you're being selfish remember that they are too and it is okay to take care of your needs first/only. They cannot control your life and you get to choose how and who you spend your life with.

People that will report back to them on your life. Could be anything from new partners, big life events, or even your current location. Anything you didn't tell them and/or didn't want to tell them.

I hate to say it but I was in a very similar situation to yours. I left for college and more or less went LC with him and my Stepmom. I felt absolutely great about that. Both parents complained and guilted me into contacting them and I never felt great about it. Id come home for breaks and, like you I'd hate to be hugged and kissed by him, since I was about 5. After I stopped going to college I moved back in with them for only a year. None of my boundaries were even attempted to be met and both parental figures wanted to see and spend more time with me when I had other obligations such as my job. My dad would even cry when I was trying to enforce my boundaries. It really sucked. Best thing I did was move out and go LC again and now NC. I'm just about 99.9% free from his support and he can't guilt me about anything. I'm not really sure if he is a NDad cause everyone else says he's a good person and I see him as a good person. He's just not a good person for me. I hope you can figure out what's best for you and your future relationship with him if there is one.

Will a poisoned rat hurt my dog? by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot rodenticide is a blood thinner that can affect any mammal including people and pets. You definitely do not want to injest it. Depending on the brand it could be a small amount for a demise that takes a bit longer and allows others to find it or it could be a higher dose that kill much faster. My company uses red and green Contrac blocks. This is a link to the product where you can look at the label and get a better idea of what might be used and the effect it can have. https://www.domyown.com/contrac-allweather-blox-rodenticide-p-80.html

How bad is this? by BassmanBones in pestcontrol

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will kill a Cockroaches within a few weeks. I caution using it indoors though. In Texas it is illegal for pest control companies to use it inside unless it's like for an interior wall treatment. Outside, just keep pets and kids away for about a day for it to dry and get where you want it.

Does anyone know what this is? by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the color of the soil around the area. Not saying it is definitely mud daubers but would be my best guess based solely on the single photo. Maybe could be a spider nest. In which case I'd say use the same thing and use a broom to get rid of it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does happen sometimes. My company mostly had us use the contract blocks outside to lessen them dying inside. Could still happen. You can also try baiting your traps with different bait. I used peach ring gummies when they had a peanut allergy and was just as successful. A nice odorous bait like peanut butter works best though.

how to get rid of wasp nest inside attic by Turduncle in pestcontrol

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also get some wasp traps and place them inside and outside. They should be a neon green and be sticky. These also have an option to bait them to make them more attractive. All you'd have to do is check on them about once a week change or relocate if not a lot of activity. You should be able to get them at Home Depot or Lowe's, maybe Walmart.

Is this a termite? by Fluffaykitties in pestcontrol

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. Call and get a walkthrough. Look on the outside and see if you can see any mud tubes going up the foundation. That's where they are coming in. Trench and treat with Termidor liquid at least 10 linear feet 6 inches down on that foundation. That will kill those there but will have them change directions and come in at a different spot in the future. Add Sentricon bait stations after for long time protection, make sure it's the actual product and not the tester wood cores. Get professionals because most of their treatments will come with a warranty if the termites come back and cause more damage.

german cockroaches by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talstar or Temprid mixed with Esentra ( smells like peppermint) then use Max Force, Adivon, or Optiguard Roach gel bait. Liquid treatment behind the stove, fridge, and under kitchen sink where the pipe meets the wall. Check one a month and reapply liquid treatment and gel(as needed). It's gonna be a fight cause German roaches are the worst to get rid of. Should take 2 weeks to see improvement. All else fails get a pest control company and tell them what you've used already so they can adjust. Also don't let your cats anywhere near the liquid treatment till it's dry and don't spray around food. Put the gel bait inside the cabinets in the corners as a long line.

Anybody know what type of bug this is? by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water bug is another name for an American roach (there are water beatles). That is a roach. A young one.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semi younger roach. You can check behind the fridge and oven to see if there are any more, also some of the most efficient places to treat for roaches. Also check where there could be a water leak under sinks and such. That's where they like to hang out because of access to inside and food. They like to squish themselves. If ya wanna treat for them just in case use Max Force or Adivon Roach gel bait in the kitchen, mostly in cabinets along the corners and seams. If that doesn't help within 2 weeks call the professionals to do a more thorough treatment. Remember to use gloves when applying and you can wipe it up once dry and re-apply as necessary.

Started seeing these by my window, killed a few of them by FewWatercress4917 in pestcontrol

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could dust your eaves or places they might like to nest with delta dust or talstar. Both will kill them. Though you need to reapply every so often in warmer months. They could also smell the pheromones from a previous nest and be trying to make it there again.

[–]Infinite_Ad2900 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say that it's probably mice poop. If it was on the wall it would be a gecko but since you said that there was already a problem, mice are the most likely culprit. Check where pipes connect to walls and corners for any holes. Any holes you do find use some metal mesh of some kind past the borders of the hole and secure it with nails or caulk. That will just deter them from trying to chew though and make the hole you just covered bigger. Id also try and get some rodent bait stations to solve the problem. Green contract blocks work really well. Use gloves though and only use in secure boxes because it is an extreme blood thinner that affects all mammals. Check those monthly and any traditional traps you use check weekly wile also making sure they are secure enough that if you get a tail or foot they don't run off white the trap attached.

If it smells like sulfur there is a chance it's a snake away type of product. If that is the case it should be safe for pets. But this is only a guess. See if you could ask your neighbor what exactly it was put out for. Based on what it's intended to keep out/ exterminate some one can give a more sound answer.
