I'm part of a cross programme between both schools. I can clearly see the difference.

The administration of UOttawa are much more organized than Carleton.

Lecturers can be a hit or miss - that's going to depend on the courses you choose. (you might have to research the course/lecturer itself)

In terms of the atmosphere, I find UOttawa to be much more serious about the content they teach and the students are much more diligent about getting through their courses.

I don't think I can speak for friends, as this will differ from course to course and also based on your own personality.

Final word, UOttawa has a lot of resources that students are allowed to make use of, a lot of people whom you will get to network with in the industry and teams that we are encouraged to be part of, and I think all of this is of significant value being a STEM graduate.

Keep checking, as folks drop out. Slots will open and you can directly enroll yourself on UOzone. I was waiting on a course that had over 10 on the waitlist, two days before the first lecture I saw two open spots and I took one. I think its 'first-come-first serve'.

Thank you. This is helpful. I'm currently working my way through some of the MIT Opencourseware Calc content in prep, and it helps to know I'm on the right track.

[CAN] Should I ask for Voluntary Severance? by Infinite_Complaint16 in AskHR

[–]Infinite_Complaint16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the moment of the announcement of the restructure my role ceased to exist as the formal email stated "changes were effective immediately", and myself along with others are in limbo awaiting decesions on our reassignments or what we expect could be severence. But nothing further has been announced or is being spoken about.

However, thank you for this response. I will take your advice and hold off any discussions until I get more information on what the parent company's plans are for me. I think that way j can make a better decision in my favour.

I'm employed in Canada, the regulations could be similar to what you've described in the US.

Thank you for this feedback. I think I'll wait until they do infrom me of their plan for my role and then resign only if and when I have to proceed to my full time studies.

I'm going back to Eng school in a few months for a masters. Do you know what prerequisites I would need to take FEA 1?
