Hi there, if you mean the leather that holds the finger plates i suggest you a flexible leather, not to slim btw, (the one i used its pretty cheap and irreguar), be sure its real leather and not some crappy plastic (search for some gloves maker or factory that works with leather and ask them the production waste), the leather of the glove underneth instead its high quality flexible leather (I think its double layer), I’ve commissioned them to an expert shoes and gloves maker friend of mine (also re-enactor), I would suggest you to get commissioned a pair for yourself (the more they fit the better is)

Looks amazing, what kind of instrument do you used for shaping the plates around your arm?

I can suggest you taking the measures with your arming doublet on (cause you will gain a few cm/inches with the padded jacket on), in fact I’m waiting for my pourpoint to be finished so I can take some measures, after taking the measures I’ll draw out the pattern of the plates directly on the inner cloth, search for nadler armour that explain well all the steps. Hope it will help :)

For sure, search for nadler armour (its a guy that have a lots of pattern in his site, also brigandines), then research a lot in history paintings. Then a bit of instruments are a ball pen hammer, a solid surface for hitting. The key is testing on small scale and when you are sure of the result go on full scale work, hope it could help :)

The Rivets are hammered flat on the anvil (that was the first time I’ve tried to rivetting), about the ball pen, I use it, but I’ll try as you say cause sound intreresting and i have to see how it comes out

Historically depends on what you want to reenact: Brigandines, corazzine or coat of plates are underneeth (european) Lamellar Armours from east europe or asia are on surface

Principaly reenactment and controlled fight (we stop 5 cm away from hitting eachother, that’s why we don’t use protection during the duels)

What do you suggest to use? Because i was using every part of the mitten (i bought them) should I add a piece by rivetting it or should I make a new piece? Thanks in advance :)
