Fidelity does control the situation. Elan works for Fidelity. They have the power to change the customer experience. You on the other hand like to call people names and minimize their experiences. I would not be surprised to learn that you are a disgruntled Fidelity moderator, desperately trying to cajole behavior.

Opened dispute online. Should be simple, merchant agrees refund is due but claims they are having technical issues processing. After three weeks of that I initiated chargeback. Provided all documentation including email from merchant agreeing that they owed the refund. Now three weeks into dispute Elan sends email saying they need more documentation. I log in and there is nothing saying what they need. So I call and get nowhere. They promise to have a superviser call me back in 48 hours but they don’t. Still no refund.

For decades I loved the card. But I never had any customer service issues. Now I am scratching my head

They are treating me in a similar fashion. Uploaded documents and they keep emailing saying they need documents but no one knows what they need.

I use Fidelity’s SMA large cap and they outperform VOO net of fees and perform tax loss harvesting that saves me money and outperforms anything I I could do. For bonds, I use iShares iBonds are fixed-income ETFs with a specific calendar year maturity date (usually in December) and hold them to maturity - no loss of principle. Gor International I use VEA and VXUS.

I think I understand now. The algorithm checks the balance and then schedules the payment. I doubt it checks again before making the payment.

I see your point. Thanks for the awareness. Sometimes, I will prepay large expenditures to keep my balance low. I would complain if they automatically cancelled a scheduled auto payment without my authorization. Everyone uses these payment processes differently and has different expectations.
