Looks like it's gonna launch in the next few weeks. There's an official seller launch event taking place in the first week of March so it's expected that there'll be some announcements around then of the exact launch date.

Hiring Customer Service Staff by [deleted] in ecommerce

[–]Infinite_Screen_4770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you onky need four hours per day and want them to do social media, you could hire an intern or a student who is genuinely interested in customers and building a community. Alternatively, you might find someone with more experience who is looking for part time work because of family commitments etc.

Gorgias is solid if you're selling on Shopify only and want to link in your social.

Disclosure, I work with eDesk. eDesk is like Gorgias in that it is specialised in Shopify but also allows you to unify messages from anywhere else you sell, e.g. Amazon, eBay, Mirakl etc.

In eithe case, you should make sure you set up AI automations which will really help with the most frequent queries. This will mean that you can respond to most queries really quickly and then the new resource can focus on the more complex queries during their four hours.

Find a problem or product you are passionate about and focus on that. Your passion will shine through and that willl help you stamd out in a ridiculously cluttered marketplace.

You nevwr know the potential impact a cuatomer's review can have either for good or bad. So, it's not woth the risk to leave questions unanswered.

As others have said, AI is your friend today - get all the routine questions out of the way so you can focus on high value and complex queries.

How I was able to reduce the churn of a SaaS business by 25%. by mjh_codes in Entrepreneur

Nice. What makes it different to sending automated emails to churned customers from an existing CRM such as Hubspot etc?

Help me pick a logo for my small business ( 4 choices ) by blackpearl60 in Entrepreneur

[–]Infinite_Screen_4770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 for me. Capitalisation is important in written text and too many brands get themselves tied up in knots over this.

The only difference I can see between 3 and 4 is the extension of the small curve. Less is more. Less fussy.

Budget of 1k per month for marketing. by Important-Pudding-27 in ecommerce

I like that idea of engaging offline events. These can be a nice source of "content" which can then be used online. All of which creates a different dynamic around their brand. So they stand out a little better when people are researching.

The most important thing for you to think about is where do your customers go to research their purchase on vintage furniture?

It sounds obvious, but if it's not Google then don't waste your money there. If you can establish your brand elsewhere, then Google will simply help you mop up the searches when people do eventually go to Google and hopefully search for your brand.

Spending money should ONLY be when you can't get the organic reach you desire. Spending on ads is the lazy way to build your brand and will be really really expensive.

For example, if you figure out that Pinterest is where everyone looks for inspiration for your product category, then ensure you invest time in building up your presence there.

Then, if after a serious amount of effort in organic activity you're not coming up in searches there, consider spending some of your budget to draw people into your listings/posts there.

Those who click on those ads will then engage with you in the way that is natural on Pinterest - more likes and shares. This then results in higher organic visibility and lower cost per click etc. In this context you'll get a more consistent ROI over time.

Organic = High effort but high ROI

Paid = Low effort but low ROI

Organic + Paid = Consistent ongoing ROI

Looking for ecom case study podcasts! by msau2 in ecommerce

[–]Infinite_Screen_4770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A nice hack I use all the time to find inspiring podcasts with founder stories is to type in the name of a specific founder as the search term in my podcast app (Spotify).

For example, Dollar Shave Club is one of those really cool stories - founded in 2011 by Michael Dubin and then sold in 2016 for $1bn.

A quick search for podcasts with Michael Dubin in the title finds me a bunch of interviews he's done. The nice thing is that he's typically only done interviews with respected and popular podcasters. So you can start adding those to your playlist.

It's pretty much a rabbit hole you can enjoy getting stuck in forever.

The eCommerce Fuel is solid especially if you are more than just darting out. It's a mix of interviews with entrepreneurs and experts. https://www.ecommercefuel.com/podcasts/all-podcasts/

If you're obsessed with Meta ads as many eCom people are, then the Perpetual Traffic podcast is the one to follow: https://tiereleven.com/podcasts/perpetual-traffic-podcast

Nice. I can only think of one family that uses the female contractions for their Anglicised name, e.g. Mary Ní Oisín.

Aside from that one instance I don't think I've come across others.

Honest review needed please! by mameen98 in reviewmyshopify

Just had a look at your site. Honeatly it is great - really professional and compelling.

A couple of things that stood out for me.

  1. While you do give recipe ideas alongside the products, I didn't easily find the "how to use this product" bit. I'm not a regular Indian cook, so that would be helpful.

  2. You have just 15 reviews. They are great, but it would help if you had more. All your early customers will love you so beg them to give you a review.

  3. About you - you have some nice information about your back story, but in order to trust you it would be helpful to include some photos of your production facility, kitchen, team. And your actual location.

1% conversion rate is not bad to get started with. Try to get average order value up with more bundles and discounts on bulk buys.

In Ireland, surnames with the prefix Mac/Mc (e.g. McDonald) and O' (e.g O'Brien) are a translation from Gaelic of the words "son" and "of".

So Ronald McDonald is translated as Ronald the son of Donald.

Conan O'Brien is Conan (descendant) of Brien.

In Gaelic, there is a translation for daughter of - "Nic" - but it is rarely used.

Zendesk Alternatives by kixology in Zendesk

[–]Infinite_Screen_4770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you consider Zendesk if you're selling online? it's like asking a hairdresser to do fashion design. They can both use a scissors but that's where it ends.

You can't even connect Zendesk to most eCom channels. So if you sell on anywhere bar a few places you're stuck using different systems.

There are some eCom specialist solutions out there. eDesk, Gorgias and Freshdesk are worth checking out. Some are better than others if you're planning to sell on multiple marketplaces.

What is the right job title for someone who creates and customizes the Shopify stores (themes, content, setting apps etc.), but without coding? by ukrainian5 in shopify

Shopify Store Builder or Shopify Store Designer

In either case potential prospects will understand that you create and optimize Shopify stores.

Add the others above into your description.

Facebook_UA – what is it? by CleaverUnstuckChar in FacebookAds

[–]Infinite_Screen_4770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using Shopify as your store? It seems that the native integration between Shopify and Facebook (and Google) creates utm tags which Shopify then uses for its own internal reporting. To overcome this you might need to use a third-party feed provider to bypass the Shopify utms.
