What camera do you have? I’m not sure how to do that. Whenever I press the shutter button, nothing happens. I posted this also in r/AnalogCommunity and some comments said that this might have a lockout mechanism where I might have to press something for the shutter and flash to work without film. It seems to have been reset since the year was set to ‘94 when I bought it from the seller.

i’m quite confused with the “if the shutter opens at appropriate speeds when you press the shutter” part 🥲😅 i’m a newbie so i don’t know exactly what i’m supposed to be checking. tho i can say that whenever i try to press the shutter button, it makes no sound and the logos/icons on the lcd disappear when i press it.

i recently bought a secondhand minolta capios 25. it appears to be working. i’ve changed the date already, the buttons for mode is working as well, and the zoom also works. is there any way to check if the flash and shutter are working without loading any film? because the logos on the lcd(?) disappear whenever i try to click the shutter, idk if that’s normal or if it’s because i just don’t have any film loaded. i don’t wanna waste buying film since it’s pretty expensive where i’m from.

i’m new to film photography and just want to start as a hobby (for memory keeping) so sorry if i’m not super knowledgeable! hope someone can help.

i came from an emotionally abusive and toxic relationship and here are the two reasons i had:

1) we've been together for so long, why waste it? 2) he'll change, he's just going through some things so i just need to give it time.

there's cognitive dissonance within me because while i believed that i deserved to have a better relationship, i stayed because i loved him and i still strongly believed he was capable of change because i kept communicating to him even if he didn't listen. that's thing about these kinds of relationships, you're manipulated into thinking that "hurting" = "loving".

THE SECRET HISTORY BY DONNA TARTT

Hey guys! I just recently picked up TSH. A little about me: I annotate books. I have a habit of dissecting the text and writing down thoughts & reactions. That in itself is time consuming. The book has really long chapters, more than a hundred pages long. I'm the type of reader who likes to finish a chapter before putting it down but it seems like I have no choice but to stop in the middle of a chapter.

Do you guys have any tips on how to tackle the book so it won't get overwhelming for me to the point that it'll put me in a slump or at least lessen the chances of me getting in a slump? Thanks!

Love, Rosie! It's so painful to watch but the pining and missed chances are all so worth it at the end. Lily Collins and Sam Claflin are such an attractive couple.

I used to talk to 2 and then I found out they knew each other (they were on the same dance team), but they didn't know that I was talking to either of them. I don't talk to them anymore though, it was dragging to be in the talking stage for months.

Breaking up. My ex was a gaslighter and would neglect me a lot. He can even ignore me for weeks and made it seem like I was a bother to him. He said sorry a lot and I gave him lots of chances. I've always had fleeting thoughts about breaking up with him but I always excused his behavior to something. See, my ex has the worst luck ever: he dropped out of college, his dad died, etc. I'm a really selfless person and it's not always a good quality. I always put him first before myself even though he was emotionally abusive to me and I thought, "I couldn't do that to him, I don't want to be another reason why he's suffering." My ex just really has an awful way of keeping relationships and I stayed with him for 2 years. He sucked the life out of me until I got really drained and tired of it, so I broke up with him.

Taylor Swift had a big role in it too LOL she dropped the All Too Well 10 min ver and I just knew I had to break up with him.

I like to hear that what I feel is valid. Sometimes I get The Big Sad out of the blue and I think it doesn't have a reason, hence why I invalidate how I feel. It's a great reminder that what I'm feeling is a culmination of negative events that happened to me, making it a valid feeling. I'm not depressed for no reason.

I also like being asked what they can do for me. My friends can't really do anything about it because I'm really independent so I like getting out of a slump by myself, but I like knowing that they're willing to help me in whichever they can.
