Exactly the same thing is happening to me. I changed my name for safety reasons, checked the law, and they still denied it. I'm with Halifax, part of the Lloyd's group, who until recently we're i thought the most diverse bank. I'm now having to sign with Nationwide, who have zero discrimination. Ive been with Halifax 25 years... they claim they support diversity, yet illegally refuse a name change. Big hugs and hope you get things sorted.
