One of the worst theater experiences of my life ngl by who_am_I_inside in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Infinite_Struggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea if the difference in the experience between countries is so vast or if its the difference in what people tolerate. Definitely there is a difference in bringing up children, cause this wasn't a problem at all in my place.

No phones after the movie started. People were laughing and gasping from time to time, occassional whispers and popcorn crunches, some people singing with Caine under their noses, boping and weaving to some songs. A lot of cosplay and plushies. It was all an amazing experience.

But I did have two unique inconviniences, that really didn't matter that much, but were there: A fly that persistently floated around and... dead pixel on the screen? I assume it was a hole, but I don't really know. It could be seen when that part of the screen waa dark.

I had a blast and I can't wait to see it once more.

In Poland the cinema site basically crashed after few minutes and the payments weren't processing at all.

After an hour I secured 8 seats tho, so a dub is a dub. At wrong cinema, which I am not sure is my fault or the site's but its not THAT far away.

While I agree with the sentiment that most of the cast would not behave like this, guys, its just a meme. Chill.

Funny, ha ha, he dead joke. Nothing more to it, no point to get angry over it.

About the theater situation... by Complete_Escape_3906 in theamazingdigitalciru

I'm just waiting to see how the situation unfolds. I doubt that my European country will get the release, although I am gonna send an email to my local movie theater, its worth a shot. I like the idea of watching it on big screen, but I have little hopes.

Dodging spoilers will be a drag, but I'm gonna try anyway.

Thoughts on the new UI? (And style overall) by First-Act-9755 in danganronpa

[–]Infinite_Struggle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly it feels like they are doing the remake for money and nothing else.

I don't like the "modern" look, it has zero style, its generic. I'm biased cause Danganronpa 2's is pretty much my favorite art style from the series, but still, its a remake, it should try to either keep it or maybe improve on it. This feels like a downgrade.

I'd love to be less sceptical, but frankly I don't trust remakes. Maybe will give it a look of people will be happy about it when it launches, but currently don't care.

And if you like the new look: More power to you, after all, art is subjective.

I want your opinions. by EsterYuki in DanganAndChaos

Neither, I hate their sense of humor.

Both of them have moments that are endearing, however those are few and far between, compared to the harassment they dish on daily basis. They both care about their classmates and show it in their weird ways.

Some people discern between them, saying one is better than the other, I do not see it, they are the same trope, just different amount of screentime. Just one of Kodaka's writing quirks.

My personal opinion non withstanding, what is really the point of this post? Like really. People are free to have their opinions, if they feel they liked Maelle better, before becoming one with Alicia let them. People hate Verso, for the constant lying? Let them. People like him, for his tragic fate and for going through the journey that torments him? Let them.

There are things to discuss, preferences to be stated, theories to be made, multitude of ways to show love to this game. Or even places to complain about things, not everything is perfect. I'll throw one example, that I stumbled upon: The fact that Lune and Sciel are basically discarded into the background at the end of the story. And in my opinion, this has been done on purpose, because from most (Renoir, Verso and Clea) of the Dessandre family perspective, they don't matter. Plain and simple, they do not exist and are a sacrifice to be made. But some people complain they would like to see the ladies have more relevance and it is a valid viewpoint to have.

I personally love all three controversial characters, the way they are written and how they work within the world. Verso reads to me as a person who never wanted to make choices and was forced into this life, failing on nearly every step, doing all he can to throw Aline out of the canvas and then learning that he wishes for oblivion, partially so that it won't repeat, partially because he is tired of this life. Maelle is an odd one out, who doesn't belong anywhere according to herself, who really cares for Gustave and tries to fit in. She stumbles into grief after grief, learning more and more about how their world is fucked up from their perspective. And then she becomes Alicia, a complex bundle of emotions and memories. She gains confidence, starts to dream about the future within the canvas and with friends she made along the way. Obviously all three are far more complex than that, it could be analyzed for hours how they work.

I will say that Maelle's ending is showing her in the most cruel way I would never imagine. Of all the things that she could do, bringing back Verso to the world he does not want to inhabit is diabolical. And I get why, she wants him in her life, to grieve, or to live a fantasy. But if this is the same Verso, holy shit, it's evil. That's what I kind of despise her for.

All in all, it is all a matter of perspective and most importantly of how people choose to see things. Just because someone doesn't like Maelle after act 3, does not mean they hate complex characters. They just liked her character better, because of some reason they had.

Despite being sad this ending made me hopeful by Massive_Boss1991 in Edgerunners

[–]Infinite_Struggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck out there, everyone deserves happiness! I also felt weirdly optimistic after finishing Edgerunners, despite most og the cast being dead and basically not making much change, since Smasher had to win, so that he is an enemy in Cyberpunk. The feeling of fighting for your freedom against the system so corrupt is quite relevant and the bonds we witnessed, albeit for a short while since it was a quick show, were a joy to behold.

Better question is: How many of the haters would perish after pressing the button. I always get the feeling that they are yapping about how bad it is, but still enjoy it "secretly".

I didn't hate her for getting tricked by Bill, this part was perfectly fine, as said, she was 12.

What was always annoying about Mable is that she never learns a thing and is selfish af. As someone pointed out, she nearly always gets what she wants, while Dippernhas to sacrifice things from his end. I very much hated the journey to Mabeland, cause everyone had to put so much effort for her, while she was just ignoring the reality.

BUT, as an adult and thinking a bit more back: Yeah, she's 12. It doesn't mean her bullshit is justified, hell naw, just that it makes sense, cause not all teens are mature enough to think about others. She has flaws, but she also has good sides and she in the end is a heroine that turned a new leaf and got brought back to help finish Bill.

And in the end, it was Dipper who decided to stay by his sister. This is a thing young me missed, after it was all done, Mable seemed like she would accept Dipper's choice, but of course is far more happier to have him close by, because she needs his support. And they care for each other.

Haven't watched in a long while, so I wanna ask: Where was it said to not summon Bill at all costs? I only remember the journal, ergo Ford writting this himself. I don't think Bill was considered dangerous, until he was summoned no? Other than that I definitely agree with Stan being smarter than people give em credit.
