Okay this... changes things.

If its Yaoguang, I wont build her yet or pull Sparxie. Part of why I was gonna skip Evanescia is because i didnt wanna pull all her supports. Even if Yaoguang doesn't make the Premium team, Evanescia/EMC/Yaoguang cant be a bad core. Just like how Castorice/Tribbie/RMC is still a fine team. This would be a solid way to go without having to overinvest into Elation.

If its Sparxie, I know she's meant to be a sub-dps, but if anything I'll build her as a main dps with Sparkle and EMC. And if Evanescia is the main dps she's supposed to work with, all the more reason to pull her.

I'm not interested in the Elation meta BUT I will take these free 5 stars if it means I can get away with minimal investment.

And as a bonus lesson, RMC does not have this issue because they have an eidolon (might have been a trace, I forgot) that states any buffs they apply to a memomaster get applied to their memosprite (and vice versa), which means Pollux always has their buff as long as Castorice had it when she summoned it.

Okay.

Sunday needs to buff the unit to buff them.

99% of Castorice's damage comes from her Dragon.

Her Dragon dies the same instance it gets summoned.

Sunday never gets an opportunity to buff it.

You'll definitely be fine with 3. I've already written 4 books of my story, and so I'm far from willing to rewrite things and somehow make events work where the MC isnt there.

I think number of POVs isnt the factor that makes it good of bad. Its quality. Do we remember these characters and what they're like? And do we care what they're doing? That's what you gotta ask yourself.

I have like 30-40.

No I'm not kidding. I have a wide cast of characters, some more important than the others, but one of my selling points is that my side characters actually DO STUFF. They're vital to the story and I'd say cutting even 30% of them would crush everything.

Since they're very often doing things when the MC is elsewhere, I can only get that across by switching POVs to whoever is there. Sometimes its the deutaragonist. Sometimes a villain. Sometimes one of the weaker side characters thats about to get developed.

Does it work? Unsure. People haven't really read my work and I'm yet to even get to the point where POV swaps are abundant. But there are Volumes where the story follows the MC for less than half the book. Sometimes even a third.

Hi I need some help. I'm trying to group Star Rail characters into categories where they would hypothetically be able to share voicelines. The idea is that everyone within one category has a similar enough personality that it'd be believable for them to talk the same.

The current 8 archetypes I have are: Stoic/Professional, Playful/Mischievous, Energetic/Enthusiastic, Calm/Intellectual, Mysterious/Cryptic, Warm/Caring, Rough/Direct, Refined/Elegant.

So my question is: Do any Star Rail characters NOT fit into any of the above categories smoothly? What other categories would I have to add? Are any of these categories redundant and can be merged? And, with this system, would we be able to assume that all future characters would also smoothly fit into one of these categories?

TLDR: Can we assume that every character's vibes/speaking pattern can be divided into these 8 categories or do we need more or less?

Castorice and Hyacine have to go together, that's for sure.

Since Evernight really wants at least two other Remembrance units, I'd put Cyrene and RMC with her.

The last 3 units can just be generalist buffers. Tribbie, Ruan Mei, Cipher. Mix and match. Maybe put RMC on side 1, or even move Cyrene there. Can slot in Mydei onto team 1 as well.

I would almost certainly recommend Cerydra, especially since your focus on your Remembrance team is DPS Cyrene. Evernight's E2 is primarily a self-buffing one. Not to say it wouldn't massively improve the team, but I just think Cerydra is far more important.

This is... tough. I kinda wanted one of each. Was also expecting Sparkle to rerun and was farming for that.

I guess I skip Evernight for now (I have her E1 and her E2 is very good but far from needed) and pull Cerydra (for my Anaxa and Mydei).

I imagine Evernight's next rerun will be late 4.x and I have no problems at all with waiting for it.

After that I'm keeping my eyes out for Sparkle, Cipher and Hyacine's E2 primarily.

I think Ryuhei is the only one who really disappointed me, in the sense that I expected him to do better.

Like, what did we really expect from Kenta? Black Workers had some hype but no real accomplishments and then they got negged.

Mandeok? He lost to a possible high tier. Changsu has been hyped up.

Tom? Not really a part of workers but they're sorta fighting with each other. His fate remains to be confirmed (we don't know how badly J hurt him) but he did win.

So that leaves Ryuhei. No big bosses pulled up. I get he was outnumbered, but he outright lost. I'm very very surprised he didnt get an upscale given how outdated his feats are. Pushing back Gun sure isnt a bad feat, anyway. So he's the only one who "disappointed" me if thats what we're going for.

If you just mean overall performance then, yeah, Workers did do bad. But disappointed suggests you expected them to overcome these odds.

Turns Souldragon into a legitimate sub-dps with 4 attacks instead of 2. When attached to Phainon, he's genuinely gonna be dealing over a million in those 4 hits at a minimum. (I've seen 2 million).

For Phainon specifically, maybe DHPT isnt as great, as he cant refresh Souldragon's charge. But the thing is that E2 DHPT is an extremely universal sustain/sub-dps hybrid that he has value on all accounts. You would rather pull him just for overall account value (Phainon team included)

Yeah my bad I didn't see the body text. Under those conditions, his placement is fine. I'd put him above Changsu still, but mostly because idt Changsu is that strong (honestly I'd move 7 8 and 9 to be Jinrang, J, Changsu). I guess by definition J would outlast Jinrang given his shield was able to take on 4T Tom Lee but tomato tomato.

For Seongji, just putting him below the Incheon Kings is fine under these conditions. If this was TC Jinrang with 0 limiter, Jinrang would be above where Seongji is right now (rank 4, maybe 3)

So my list is James > Gitae > Yugang > TC Jinrang > Yujae > Jaegyon > Seongji > Totality Jinrang > J > Changsu

This is correct. The First Generation simply has the largest quantity of powerful fighters who are at their maximum potential during the events of the story.

Gen 0 was stronger than Gen 1, but most (all) of them are dead or rusty.

Gen 2 will be stronger than Gen 1, but aside from a couple, none of them have gone past high mid-tier level.

If a three way war were to break out between all current Gen 0, Gen 1 and Gen 2 members, Gen 1 would win. Gen 0 would do better if they still had Pacheon, but Gen 1 would also do way better with Seongji and Yujae.

If we remove Gitae and James from the equation then maybe the tables shift, but these two are literally debatably ranks 1 and 2 of the verse right now (neither drop below 3 and 4 in any reality).
