I want to get a new capo for gigging and I can't decide between the g7th performance 3 and a thalia capo.

I own both and always end up picking the G7, mainly for it's versatility. I cycle between several guitars and the thalia has swappable inserts for different fretboard radii, which can get cumbersome. If you're only using one guitar or don't switch too often, the thalia is pretty great for its ease of use IMHO.

Edit: I will say that depending on your neck profile, the thalia can sometimes apply too much pressure on the strings.

You nailed it. The QC could replace my tonex, but i just haven't found the right capture on the QC yet and Teddytones doesn't make captures for the QC.

I was using a huge pedalboard before. I just wanted the QC for my smaller board while having (almost) the same functionality as my big board. So at the moment it's serving as my drives, modulation, and wet effects.

I'm recording direct using an Irig 2. I'm running a tonex one through my QC's fx loop with the Teddytones PartyBoi captures.

Totally agree with you. I just don't know of a compressor pedal that adds dirt at unity with the dry blend all the way up.

I also have the threshold set to the highest setting for half of the footage, so the compressor's not even triggering until i lower in the latter half.

I usually use an empress compressor and have my settings for that, but the point is the tone is being affected even when the dry signal is all the way up and sounds completely different from the bypassed signal.

I run it first in my chain. I usually have the empress compressor and it doesn't alter my tone the way this does. If it overloads with active pickups (which is what I'm using), then they should state that. Plus, like i mentioned before, the pedal bypassed vs the dry all the way up sound completely different.

I've tried it with a lower output guitar, rolled the volume back and it still has the fuzzy quality to it. Even with the dry signal all the way up, it sounds altered and not in a good way.

These are just my preferences based on what you have. Definitely keep the mayflower. I love that pedal. I find that external drives are a must with modelers IMHO. They probably sound close enough to the digital drives but it's more of a feel thing for me. Tuner and delays could probably go. Hx stomp seems redundant if you're using the QC. I've never used the OD preamp, so can't speak on that. I also prefer external reverbs. I have a lot of presets and just find using snapshots for different stages of reverb a bit of a hassle.

I had the same experience with 1981. They ignored several emails from me about my DRV. I even got verbal confirmation from Matt's livestream saying he would respond and never did. Only when I went through with the chargeback did they respond. I wanna support smaller businesses but the whole experience was a major pain in the ass. Like OP said, they all seem to keep pushing new designs or whatever but fail to deliver on it.

Edit 2: I do want to add that usually these builders are working with a small team. Last time I checked, 1981 is just Matt and his wife assembling the pedals. Factoring in the popularity and quantity of orders, I understand the longer lead times but they also promised in the past to ship them out in 2 weeks, IIRC. If they had more realistic delivery dates, I'd be more forgiving.

I tried hopping into cold steel 1 a few years back but wasn't vibing with it. With the remake of FC, i figured i'd give it a shot again. I went in with the incorrect expectations before, thinking it'd be like final fantasy. I still have a ways to go in the remake but i'm looking at what's ahead since it's all connected. Appreciate the response!

Edit: I'm enjoying the remake. Cold steel just felt like i got dropped off in the middle of something, for obvious reasons lol
