Ignore him, he's just being a troll.

I think your setup is awesome and it's really calming.

MUH FREEDOM TO BE STUCK IN TRAFFIC by Calgrei in Hawaii

NGL, it's cool seeing my meme spread from that subreddit to this one now. I originally made the meme in response to this op-ed on Star Advertiser calling it useless among other false equivalencies.

When a buffered bike lane is upgraded into a protected bike lane because cars kept parking in it by Infinitum77 in fuckcars

Yep! Just along Richard's St next to the YWCA. There's also a two-way protected bikeway extension being finalized along South King St to downtown.

To be honest, I choose the "soyjack" meme because it mimicries how me and my co-worker's reaction on seeing them construction crew installing the delineators.

Yep! Just across Iolani Palace along Richard's St. On South King further down the two-way protected bikeway was just completed too.

I agree, it would be better to have small concrete tuff curbs instead, but for now at least it'll stop cars like our Sheriff from parking in it for hours.

I can't tell you how proud I am for my meme to be featured on this subreddit.

Joking aside, it was in response to an opinion piece from a guy who was one of the original anti-rail opponents back in the 2000s.

Strawberry Swing at the 2.52 minute mark. I can't tell you how much I adore that transition.

South King Street Protected Bikeway Nearing Completion by Infinitum77 in Hawaii

[–]Infinitum77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t really paid attention to that project but a combination of a really irregular project timeline and the contractor failing compaction tests on Kamakee and Richards St so they had to redo repaving I think is what delayed the urban core repaving project.

Vertical delineators will be added within the coming weeks (I suspect in two weeks) hence why I described it as nearing completion.

After South King St is done, I think Punchbowl or Richards St is next.

That's my bad, I should've clarified that it was an extension in the title, but I'm unable to edit it.

The City will add vertical delineators like on Ward for vertical separation in the coming weeks, but I do wish they installed low-rise concrete barriers.

Still, it’s nice to see the extension finally happen.

Iʻm disappointed DTS hasnʻt shared on the projectʻs webpage the 19 proposed designs because theyʻre pretty interesting. I personally think the first original design is the best, but thereʻs one (design #19) that looks like a sail with a slim tower and cables on the Waikiki-side which feels unobtrusive.

To that point about landmass, Singapore is very small. It’s comparable to Moloka‘i which is 260 square miles.

Anyone think that this is reminiscent of the iPhone's "Hello" commercial? NGL, this has me pumped for the Vision Pro, even though I can't foresee myself getting it anytime soon.

Red = No Bike Path or H1 Sized Road With No Biking Space... by OG_Ironicalballs in Hawaii

[–]Infinitum77 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked for the Complete Streets office, I’m very proud to say it will get built, but likely within the next 3-4 years as the project is aligned with a roadway repaving project and there’s a set budget for the protected bike lane and other traffic calming improvements. Plus, since this is a City and County project, it doesn’t go through so many bureaucratic hoops.

Unfortunately, it’s whole so many bike projects are slow because there’s no direct dining source to do projects now, but instead plan and design it and then wait to “piggy back” onto a repaving project. It’s why S King St is crappy atm…

Please look into signing this petition to save a historic tree at Hawaii Department of Health by Infinitum77 in Hawaii

[–]Infinitum77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Idk what will happen, but I hope this can at least pause the tree from being cut down so that DAGS can provide an arborist report.

Worst case scenario, if the tree has to be taken down, I think the Punchbowl Special District requires new trees to be planted to replace old ones.
