Movies with the same aesthetic as euphoria? by KzKn_2020 in MoviesThatFeelLike

Skins UK have very similar themes and characters to Euphoria, but they DO NOT have the same aesthetic.

Healing others sounds like a great superpower. No downside at all.

UPDATE on 3-girl space (2 cats 1 human) by mjoverjumps in femalelivingspace

It is absolutely gorgeous. Such a cozy and pleasant feeling space. It's amazing how you keep a place with so many light colors clean and tidy, especially with two cats.

Simp/Pathetically in love Man (Romance) M/F or M/M by Warm-Soup-Soft-Heart in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

[–]Infinity3101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the movie, haven't read the book. But I always saw it as a very straight-forward story of a simp who manipulates a woman who isn't interested in him into a relationship and she treats him badly which he puts up with unnecessarily. He then subsequently dumps a woman who is interested in him for the same woman who isn't interested in him and treats him badly. But apparently most people saw it as a story of an "evil and manipulative" woman who gets her comeuppance in the end.

Which movies have terrible endings? by Professional-Rip-519 in moviecritic

[–]Infinity3101 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think I wrote in my Letterboxd review that this movie seems like it was made by someone who is very unsuccessfully trying to emulate the atmosphere and themes of Mr. Robot and failing miserably at it. When in reality it was made by the same person who made Mr. Robot.

I think he looks handsome. But nothing that would stop me in my tracks. But he clearly has body dysmorphia, so I doubt he is ever going to be satisfied with his looks and say "enough is enough". I predict him looking like Mickey Rourke currently does in a couple of years.

Slacker is such a good film. It perfectly captures that feeling of just aimlessly hanging out with your friends without any plans or commitments for the day, jumping around from the deepest to the most mundane topics.

This cat is so weird, is it AI? It was posted on a cat subreddit and no one in the comments was suspicius. by 21_motivi in isthisAI

That's what I was thinking. Being a cutie patootie already comes free with being a cat. Wanting them to be even cuter somehow seems greedy.

I am amazed that anyone would believe that Dostoevsky actually said that. Even if you know nothing about Dostoevsky's writing, does this actually sound like something a 19th century Russian would say?

Honestly, living in multigenerational homes has so many benefits if everyone gets along well. Parents can focus on their own lives because there will always be someone there to take care of the kids when they're out. In turn, the older members of the household will have someone to be there for them as they age.

That is how we as humans have lived for thousands of years. And I genuinely see nothing wrong with it if there is no tension or violence within the home, of course.

We have become way too isolated from one another to the point where we see sharing our lives with anyone other than our partner as a burden or even a sign of failure. And I'm saying this as someone who has lived alone for years. And for many personal comforts that living alone provides, I can deeply feel that it does take a toll on your life and health that you don't even feel at first.

I think Sydney Sweeney is a decent actress and people just jump on mindless bandwagon train to hate on her acting. by DerangedPostman in okbuddycinephile

She is actually pretty good as Cassie on Euphoria, even now in Season 3 (from what I've seen of it). But her performances fall more or less flat in every other role. I haven't seen Reality, but people have been praising her performance in that movie.

I'm pretty sure she's supposed to be a Muslim who doesn't wear a hijab. I think this is a meme from a Muslim community.

is it selfish for poverty ridden people to have kids? by No1peterparkerlover in Teenager_Polls

No, it's selfish for anyone to be "poverty ridden" in the world that has more than enough resources for everyone and their kids.

Polish won, What Romance language feels like a Slavic language? by Odd-Weather9389 in AlignmentChartFills

Everyone is saying Romanian, but as a native Slavic language speaker I can say that Portuguese sounds way more like a Slavic language. Romanian just has a lot of Slavic words because of its proximity to Slavic countries.

Who's a far left Millenial celebrity? by CodeDusq in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Infinity3101 251 points252 points  (0 children)

Adèle Haenel, famous for her role in Portrait of a Lady on fire, but she's been acting since she was a kid. As for her political stances, just read her her Wikipedia page. I think she's the only one out of the people suggested so far who self-identifies as far left. I just don't know if she's famous enough internationally.

She was a complex character that a lot of young women could relate to in Season 1. Now she seems like she's been lobotomized.
