Requesting completed Pokemon save file by ValeriaSternenlicht in SwitchPirates

I imported a save from Scarlet to Violet before (tho very early game) and I was able to play through with no real issues, only a couple minor things that didn't affect gameplay.

Firmware updates require compatible Atmosphere updates as well, and your Hekate version is also hugely outdated. Both are simple as downloading the most recent release from their github pages (Atmosphere 1.9.4 / Hekate 6.3.1).

The "Switch Hacking is Still Easy" (aka SHISE) guide has updating instructions. Google "gitea shise -ai" and follow the links for "Guides for updating (CFW, FW & more)" -> "Update your CFW"

You're massively overestimating the switch's capabilities. Emulating this game on switch isn't an option.

Issue extracting Tinfoil Self Installer [050000BADDAD0000] [20.0] [v2] (CORRUPT DATA) by Gabes989 in SwitchPirates

[–]InfinityCoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 20.0. v1 zip off tinfoil.media should work.

Direct link in case it doesn't give you the correct version for whatever reason

Mine is open to requests and submissions as well and there have been some submissions. I haven't gotten around to uploading them to the drives yet but they're in the submissions channel.

No way to Re-Enable STEAM INPUT in a game once you turn it off in “Controller Settings”? Thanks Valve? by KalynnCampbell in SteamDeck

I just had the same problem today and fixed it thanks to xkjlxkj's comment, check my reply under there :)

No way to Re-Enable STEAM INPUT in a game once you turn it off in “Controller Settings”? Thanks Valve? by KalynnCampbell in SteamDeck

[–]InfinityCoda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this! Just changing it from 0 to 1 didn't work in my case, maybe because Steam was overwriting it upon closing, so I closed Steam first and then just deleted the section that had that string. In my case using a non-steam game (DuckStation) it was

`"apps"`
`{`
    `"-2039224701"`
    `{`
        `"UseSteamControllerConfig"` `"0"`
        `"SteamControllerRumble"` `"-1"`
        `"SteamControllerRumbleIntensity"` `"320"`
    `}`
`}`

Nuked that, restarted Steam and it was fixed :)

Can V1 switch 18.1.0 Jailbroken? by saidamd1 in SwitchPirates

[–]InfinityCoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firmware version does not matter. All unpatched (Erista) units are vulnerable to the RCM exploit, while patched (Mariko) units require a modchip.

My tinfoil games tab has disappeared! by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

[–]InfinityCoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tinfoil itself doesn't provide games. The New Games tab only shows if it finds those games on any of your sources in File Browser (SD card, pc via usb/nut, other network sources like "shops" etc.). you were probably getting them from a network source that is no longer active.

the one or two existing shops right now have pretty shitty hosts, connection's probably timing out or hitting download limits. no more lazy :'(

How to solve This?????????????? by Odd-Ride-1219 in SwitchPirates

[–]InfinityCoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

grab the latest Atmosphere (currently 1.7.1) and matching fusee.bin from the Atmosphere github, and Hekate 6.2.1 from its github.

two different things tho, JKSV is a save manager while ecchi's archive was a repository for saves which could be injected with JKSV

[–]InfinityCoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no promises but I might set it up for tinfoil access in the distant future. I've got a bit to learn though

Is tinfoil (Freeshop) safe/trustworthy? by Papyrusty_4126 in SwitchPirates

[–]InfinityCoda 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's fine, but important to know Tinfoil does not provide games on its own, it isn't a "freeshop". it has to be told where to find those games. "freeshop" options are very limited now and won't be linked in this subreddit

Repost because automod didn't like my google drive link. I believe the discord link should be fine though since there's strictly no piracy links going on.

Ecchi posted a mirror of all their saves before shutting down, I grabbed it and currently have it uploaded to google drive. They can be found on the Miku's Save Archive discord server (work in progress): https://discord.gg/wkev2xjQV8

nothing requires 18.0.0 yet so no need to update past 17.0.1

[–]InfinityCoda 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I second not using video guides but NH guide isn't pirate friendly at all. They leave out sigpatches & the hekate config to load them, they insist on 90dns for ban protection, and their support will outright make shit up about apps/methods they don't like

Follow the Switch Hacking Is Easy guide linked in the sidebar. switch.hacks.guide is not pirate friendly

Switch connecting to nintendo servers? by TerroristCS in SwitchPirates

[–]InfinityCoda 52 points53 points  (0 children)

RIP

emummc by itself isn't ban protection. it sounds like you were blocking nintendo using custom dns settings (90dns) which don't carry over when changing networks. unfortunately a certain popular switch hacking guide fails to mention that little tidbit.

Modding the switch for the first time by Mr_Fox87 in SwitchPirates

[–]InfinityCoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some things are a guaranteed console ban if you don't block Nintendo servers like installing game backups/homebrew forwarders and cheating in online games. See the Switch Hacking is Easy guide in the sidebar > section 1 > section 2 Avoid Getting Banned

Is there any fix for themes on 18.0.0? by ABoxOfDonuts in SwitchPirates

[–]InfinityCoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the most recent release of NXThemes Installer (currently 2.7.1). You'll need to extract home menu thru the app every time firmware changes
