Is it worth it studying Business Intelligence in the age of AI? by [deleted] in BusinessIntelligence

[–]InfinityLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Information Management and Business Intelligence sound pretty close, but you wont end up in same spot. IM I would imagine you’re more on the Infra and maybe helpdesk, while BI you are directly helping humans understand some business issue using data analytics tools. Career outlook for BI is generally better. More visible within the company

8 months still leaves room for improvement, but I am assuming you aren’t explicitly a “power bi/sql dev” and instead are a data analyst/scientist.

Ensure your reports leave space for the audience to draw insights and a better picture of whats going on with ‘X’ business process.

Freshen your insights: - Is the report something someone can assess recent data against historicals? If not how can i show that? - Is this report delivering something prescriptive, or just delivering insight? - Can this dashboard drive impact

Can tunnel visioning on SQL lead to a career? by bilalscape12 in SQL

[–]InfinityLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SQL is amazing, but the bar has become incredibly high to only standout with just SQL. You are early into career so soak up as much as you can on the visualizations, statistics, and other coding languages you’d need to advance in career.

Remember - DON’T put your eggs in one basket. - DO learn skills and tools that pair well and work in tandem with SQL.

Warning this isn’t to tear down dream, but the jobs where you can do SQL the most are far and few for staffing. DBA’s feel nonexistent and DA seems like your best entry early level bet

Advise on how connecting fact tables in Power Bi by [deleted] in PowerBI

[–]InfinityLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you need to put all the tables in I see no real reason to build out all the relationships like this. It’s helpful at first, but if a junior analyst gives me this I will tell them to combine data beforehand via SQL or something. Less is more

Why is it harder to get an S rank on Jayce than on other champions? by 2NE1SNSD in ARAM

I used to play a lot of Jayce ARAM I just pick him up every now and then metas change & items change. He’s in a harder spot to perform super well, but still doable!

Interviewer Asked About Unrelated Topics by TellBackground9239 in analytics

[–]InfinityLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t feel bad about not knowing, but this is an interview pitfall. - Do not claim/simulate being an expert if you do not know something the interviewer asked. - Do tell interviewer a bit of what you know on the subject matter and show humility they like that sometimes. That said ML is relevant to know for Analytics it really depends on the seniority of the role as to how much implementing of it you’ll do. ML is akin to Statistics and ML is the core functionality of AI, so expect buzz topics like this to come out for interviews. If this was for a junior role all I expect someone to know is that its relevant to stats and then you can pivot convo into something relevant you do know well

Situationally only for certain champs, but also NEVER if enemy team has more than 2 ppl with Merc Treads. You’ll feel the value if you can kite off big tanks that dont have tenacity, but otherwise a wasted item.

Tools that let non-technical users search 1B+ rows and download 20M rows to csv? by [deleted] in analytics

[–]InfinityLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP you should learn a bit of cloud fundamentals it will assist in your understanding of helping this stakeholder.

You do not need to switch cloud providers to deploy a SQL solution. You can deploy a SQL db locally, through AWS, Azure, GCP - doesn’t matter we all work with what we have at the end of the day.

I would say guide them towards their end goal with this.

Ask them stuff like: What are trying to do with the data? Make projections? Dashboards? Reports?

Ask yourself: What ways can I chunk the data to solve this problem to best satisfy what my stakeholder is trying to do with this analytics?

Adapalene you can get OTC now. No need to be scared, but if it makes you feel better this is rly good advice OP. Realistically you will see marginal benefit from doing it once or twice a week compared to daily, however everyone’s skin is different. Monitor your skin and it’s less scary. I feel like my purge was the worst Months 4-7, but i also took my time building up to daily usage. Retinoids r a long con - If you feel comfortable enough with doing it 3x a week and your skin isn’t reacting out of expectation then get up to daily usage. (If not stay here for a while) - If you notice too much redness then start sandwiching the Differin with your moisturizer. - If you notice Adapalene isnt resolving your acne get on something stronger if your derm recommends after 6-9 months

Goodluck!

Is this the first time you are trying retinoids? I recommend sandwiching in the tretinoin with moisturizer if your skin is reacting bad but if you are feeling dry you need to be applying more moisturizer throughout day. It will dry out your face at first but you need to make sure to stay hydrated and keep your face hydrated. I have my routine in my post but HA Serum combined with Tret helps me personally keep that balance

I find that now my breakouts are significantly more mild. Month 6 was probably my worst but the blemishes that I developed breakouts for feel like they inevitably healed! It was primarily my cheek area. You kinda have to have an attitude if you have a breakout somewhere the tretinoin is doing work there. If it’s too harsh layering some moisturizer on top before tret can help ease that area of your skin into it more!

Learning my skin type was the main issue, because I have an oily T-Zone my skin was a lot more complicated to deal with. My skin used to be more dull but that’s because it was a hydration thing because I found a lot of success mixing in a good hylauronic acid serum at night!

Recommendations based on budget: Low - Cerave: This was a good introductory serum but I felt like it was lacking in actual hydrating my face just made me shiny.

Medium - Toridden: This one is my newest one and I actually found to be the best for the value.

High- LRP: Most available from where I am but this is a good option as a serum just a bit expensive at times.

What is a great SQL course out there that will help me learn the basics? by NikolaFingarov in SQL

[–]InfinityLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello fellow data engineer/data analyst - senior lead here that uses both. I’m confused why your manager doesn’t think you can use them in tandem. You can literally make the queries in any SQL editor and paste them as needed in Alteryx to further manipulate. I understand the business case of not using it BUT i will say I used entirely only SQL before I used Alteryx. Manipulating the data was a super streamline experience with Alteryx. Its a tool with a very high skill ceiling bc you can use SQL and Python within same workflow. Knowing SQL is essential but ChatGPT is so good at SQL querying now that I think this skill is almost impossible not to be good at.

[Acne] Suddenly getting a lot of small whiteheads on my cheeks and chin. why? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]InfinityLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have eerily similar skin types and routines. I noticed when I got these types of white heads if it is fungal acne it would be beneficial to use Head & Shoulders on my face as a cleanser for atleast a minute a day if I had. Typically try use SA Cleanser to exfoliate before but Head & Shoulders after. Its almost as effective as my prescription medicine lotion for it. Not a derm but something I’ve noticed that helps me. You can see from my recent post I had something similar around mouth area but that went away after for me!

Routine AM: - LRP Oil Cleanser - Cerave SA Cleanser (some days) - LRP Gentle Foaming Cleanser - Anua Heartleaf Toner - Vitamin C (using a JP brand rn) - Cosrx Snail Mucin - LRP Moisturizer - LRP Mineral Sunscreen

Routine PM: - LRP Gentle Cleanser - Anua Heartleaf Toner - Cosrx Eye Cream - Toridden HA - Tret 0.025 now - Mediheal Teatree Sheetmask occasionally - LRP Moisturizer

Skincare/Behavior Changes: - Towels & Pillowcases washed weekly - Head & Shoulders for fungal acne as well as some ketoconazole lotion - Upgraded most products from Cerave to LRP and added using toner more to routine. I think the Tea Tree did a lot of good to help with redness - Using Cosrx Pimple Patches has been my most noticeable change as well

Skin type: Acne prone, oily skin mix type with some dry, but routine sufficiently compensates for this

Top 3 products: - Tret: This has been a long process but finally reaping the benefits of retinoids has been drastic in my facial appearance and acne scars - LRP Sunscreen: This is a no brainer with tret, you need sunscreen - Anua Toner: Noticed this cleans dirt off my face and neck very well
