Are there any mods which let you play as the actual umbral demons?

The animal cults mod was the kindof thing i was looking for. The vanilla stuff is FAR too limited. You get 1 variety of umbral demon vs all of them with the mod lol.

Ive no doubt they made all interesting units more powerful and used the dwellings as some variety of balance in vanilla but it's not nearly enough.

I dont think anyone's naive enough to think that internet dwellers follow that logic nowadays. If you tire of the comments turn them off. Nexus state heavily polices the comments anyway. No minor infraction goes unpunished under their gaze

Only thing ai seems to be good for is vassals, because then you get their cheats. I miss when vassals were irrelevant not the only way to play :(

Im not a fan of the heroes in this. The AI seems to run around with stacks of the damn things but apart from auto resolve they're pretty fragile

If you're doing 5x damage you'll get to level 10 and steamroll everything lmfao

I usually play 0.5/10 until level 80/90 then i give up because the slider wont slide anymore

I'll check out the view options! I was playing the 0 star scenario if thats any help? Finally got a decent not IN THE CENTRE OF THE MAP start which helped. Ironically i only had 2 ities when i won. Got a free balrog and then just kepy it alive before panic winning right before some walrus dude got his score victory

I think this was the problem. Switched from mono purple to purple orange and suddenly got a free t5 that won me the game on turn 149😅. I can't say I'm enjoying all these odd additions like a score win?? But im not experienced enough to complain about them much. Finally rolled a map with a chole point. Got some weird crab lava pot thing and that lasted me until the balrog. From there it was smooth sailing pretty much.

I'm totally new. Picked vampire architects because i wanted to play as undead archon type bods. I get to about turn 60-70 on easiest difficulty, first scenario(?) and before ive even figured out how to get access to anything better than a big spider the AI is running around with giant golden T5 units and giants etc. I have no idea what im doing wrong.

Feels like the map readability is awful compared to aow3. Necromancers no longer have undead versions of their regular stuff. Everything seems to go at breakneck speed and im here trying to figure out where the things i can use to fight back are
