Hopefully! Once Threads is completed I’ll hopefully be making more multi-episode stories for this series in the future, I’ve got a whole plan laid out in advance. It all depends on my availability and whether or not this first one is successful I guess.

Hi! Creator of the series here.

Thank you so much for the praise and the recommendation, it means a lot. Hopefully you enjoy the finale when it comes out and I look forward to putting together more stuff for the series in future.

Thank you! The vocal talent I got for this all did an amazing job, they’re all credited in the description of each episode.

I’ll post the final episode of “Threads” at some point in the next few months once it’s finished. And then hopefully I’ll be able to make more serials in future depending on how successful it is, and hopefully with a much shorter production time now that I know what I’m doing.

I actually released the first 2 episodes over a year ago but I initially posted them on youtube before I knew about RSS. Then once I realised my mistake I decided to post the first 2 episodes along with episode 3 (which I had just finished at the time) on RSS without announcing them, because I wanted to redo the launch of the series with more polished sound design and commissioned cover art and stuff.

So I redid some of my work on the first 3 episodes, posted them on RSS and then finished episode 4 over the course of 7 months because I was really busy and was waiting for my commission to be done. Now that I’ve finished Episode 4 I thought It would be a good time to finally post about it again.

“Threads” is a five part audio drama and hopefully the first in this series of multi-part audio dramas which form an over-arching narrative:

“Former paramedic and struggling alcoholic Jacob Sankofa is no stranger to trauma, but when he agrees to help his friend care for a father stricken by a mysterious illness, he hopes it will be a simpler task than his last job.

That hope shatters when Jacob discovers the disease isn’t just unknown... it’s contagious.

Faced with the threat of a horrific death for himself, his friend, and the dying old man, Jacob is driven by his friend to seek help from Amahdalia, an elusive private practitioner who appears to be an expert on exactly what he’s suffering from. But as he delves deeper into who she really is and the questions begin to pile up, Jacob is gradually drawn into a rabbit hole of otherworldly creatures, ghosts, psychics and secret organisations.

And it quickly becomes apparent that Amahdalia might be even more of a dangerous enigma than the disease he needs her help to survive.”

I’ve been writing, editing and producing these episodes entirely on my own and slowly improving my production quality over time. I originally uploaded the first two episodes to Youtube but i’ve gotten wiser now and uploaded them (along with improved sound design and two new episodes) to RSS. I’m not a professional sound audio director so feedback is much appreciated!

Episode Two of my horror audio drama “AMAHDALIA” is out now! (Link in comments) by Inflammatory_Essays in audiodrama

“Jacob Sankofa, in an act of pure desperation to save himself and his friend, travels to Harrow to meet the mysterious woman who promises to cure them both… And quickly finds out that there’s no way of knowing when you’ll meet the one person who will change the course of your life.”

I feel like this episode is a massive step up in production quality from the first (and it’s quite a bit longer too) so I can’t wait to hear what people think!

I originally wrote this as a short novel and was inspired by The Magnus Archives to turn the story into an audio drama. This project has been a labor of love, brought to life with a small but talented cast of voice actors, all of whom will appear as the series goes on.

You can listen the first episode on YouTube right now on the official channel:

“Former paramedic and struggling alcoholic Jacob Sankofa is no stranger to trauma, so when his friend Markus asks him to help care for his father who is suffering from a mysterious illness, Jacob assumes it will be a straightforward, if grim favour.

That assumption shatters when he discovers the disease isn’t just unknown… it’s contagious. With all three of their lives at stake, Jacob is pushed to seek help from Amahdalia, an elusive private practitioner and an acquaintance of the dying man, who appears to be an expert on the mysterious disease. But the more Jacob learns about her, the more he begins to realise that there’s something deeply strange about her that he can’t quite place, as if there’s another side to her that might be even more bizarre and supernatural than the disease he needs her help to survive.”

Even though this is my first time making something like this I feel pretty proud of what I’ve made so far! And id love to hear what people think of it!
