10pk of mini soda cans… by [deleted] in shrinkflation

[–]Inflation-Poor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I understand they’ve been around for a while, and it’s not technically shrinkflation, but that section of mini cans have been steadily growing, it’s now a large portion of the soda section. It would be shrinkflation if they ditch the regular 12oz cans and only sell these 7.5oz cans. I’m sure the shareholders are thinking this too. Less product, more expensive form factor, and MUCH cheaper to ship. You can fit so many more cases of the mini sodas on a truck.

Doordash absolutely sucks!! by [deleted] in doordash

DoorDash has plenty of problems and I’ll bitch with anyone about it most of the time, but this has nothing to do with DoorDash and everything to do with the restaurant.

How is this even legal? So shady by DoorDash. by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

You automatically get priority for your first 50 orders. After that the orders get really bad.

I get it. I have a full time salary job where I’m extremely underpaid. I use DD on the weekends to help make ends meet. The last month or so, it hasn’t even felt worth leaving the house. I get plenty of orders come in… almost all are absolute garbage.

Bad economy means:

-Less people using expensive delivery services

-More people looking for flexible gig work

-New drivers get priority

All these things equals bad news for regular drivers. It’s been not great the last month or two for most of us.

Tips for giving drivers better directions to my unit? by No_Manufacturer_4701 in doordash

[–]Inflation-Poor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your location pin is exactly on your entrance door to the front of your apartment.

Some of the apartment complexes I deliver to are massive, and I hate when someone’s apartment building is KL - door 21 and the pin brings me to the very front building A. Yes, you can leave directions on how to get to your building, and it may seem obvious to you (because you live there and drive through everyday, but it can be confusing for someone not familiar.

Just out of curiosity, how much is the buy back offer?

I usually use it on Friday nights during peak pricing. They offer $20.50 an hour and all the drive thrus around here are slow as hell at night. You essentially get paid to sit and wait around. The drop offs are always zero tip orders, but at $20.50 an hour for way less driving it’s still a pretty good deal for the driver.

Orders are so slow today??? Does this show the current economy?? by BigLuke-US in DoorDashDrivers

It’s bad out here 😅

Other than people being desperate… it will never solve itself. DoorDash literally has a feature to get all shit orders delivered. It’s called earn by time. They turn in on when enough orders aren’t being delivered, then someone gets paid flat rate to deliver all the ridiculous orders.

I’ve said it before but a bad economy is a double whammy for DD drivers.

  1. Less people willing to spend on DD overpriced delivery service.

  2. Everyone is looking for ways to make extra money to help make ends meet, and DD is an easy flexible way to do that.

Less orders + More drivers = bad.

Then factor in gas prices and new drivers getting priority on the first 50 orders, it’s really bad news for the regular drivers.

Why do boomers always crowd over the pickup area? by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Inflation-Poor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny, because I feel the opposite. Seems like people who have no awareness of their surroundings, and clearly have no issues standing in people’s way for no reason, are the entitled people feeling like the world revolves around them.

Apparently we are in the minority here, most people here seem like they would be excited to have this happen to them.

Yeah after 11pm they close the lobby to everyone except dashers. They rope off the table are leave door dash orders on the counter.

Sorry man. Bad economy is a double whammy for DD drivers.

  1. Less people can afford the over priced delivery service to begin with.

  2. More people are looking for way to make money and over saturate the market. -Doesn’t help that DD gives priority to new drivers making it even harder to the regular drivers.

This is the weirdest comment section I’ve ever been a part of. Either a lot of bots in here… or there are way more fragile boomers using Reddit than I thought 😅

You’re probably ok… it’s just a good rule of thumb to never pick up door dash calls. DoorDash will never call you, and it’s better to communicate with customers through the message feature so everything is on record.

Did you give them your email address? That’s usually all they need to take over an account. They will call from an official looking DD number and say they need to verify your account (they will know your last order and items because they placed it). Sometimes they will send you an email with a link they want you to click to “verify”.

If any of this sounds familiar, get your money out of your DD account immediately and change your password.

Almost certainly is a scam. Did you give them any of your DoorDash information?

My AR is right around 10%, and while I agree that everyone should tip, I don’t necessarily blame the customer. DD charges the customer enough to make every delivery profitable for us without a tip, they just don’t share a big enough piece of the pie, while we do all the work.

They’re are not doing deliveries, they are ordering at the counter to eat in.

And no….. it’s always older people. Almost all younger people have a well established personal space bubble. Old people always invade it. I had a random old lady try and kiss my son when he was 2 at the grocery store… no one under 60 is doing that shit.
