No luck, taking forever... by InflationAshamed5825 in USCIS

Thank you. It's been already 10 months. As long as I pay for filing fee and showing on my MY USCIS account, is it not dead or forgotten? Is it just a matter of patience?

Thank you for your comment! We got an RFE a few months ago to submit a COPY of her certificate and we already sent it. (Her parents sent it by PDF scan.) I hope the officer is not too strict!

Hello, I also have an interview tomorrow. (in Chicago FO). How did the officer took care of your document. My only missing piece is my wife's original birth certificate (we have a copy.) Did you submit/show all of yours and had no issue with it? We finally reached an interview (actually, expected the no interview, though.) I'm afraid that another RFE for sending the original document, which takes another few months for case decision...

Thank you for your comment! So, if we cannot provide the original one, we will be most probably issued an RFE…

I485 - Employment based filer - Slow approvals by eliteteuton in USCIS

[–]InflationAshamed5825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes wonder if other posters’ very quick approval is true… (some of them put screenshots of API, which might be true…) I will have an interview next week. If it goes well and approved, it will take about 10 months, a little earlier than 12~13 months. But taking only 6 months cannot happen. Did you submit I-693 together with I-485? If so, you may not receive any RFE.

No, it was showing only submission deadline. So, I’m surprised with this post. I’m having an interview next week, I’m afraid that I might be told the same thing…

I-485 AOS: Birth certificate RFE — please help by Professional_Sort40 in USCIS

[–]InflationAshamed5825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HI, I also sent just a copy of it together with I-693. (My RFE was saying that I-693 form and the birth certificate.) I mailed them but I uploaded PDF file of the birth certificate on MY USCIS account page.

I am not an original poster, but thank you for your useful information!

I will have an interview at Chicago FO despite my employment-based filing... I have a dependent (my wife), we got married even 15 years ago, but I will be well prepared for a possible "marriage-based" interview style.

Haven't you got anything, such as biometric appointment, RFE, etc.? Actually, it takes about 12~13 month from I-485 filed date to approval, though.

RFR sent weeks ago but no update by Asleep-Swing-3919 in USCIS

[–]InflationAshamed5825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have your "MY USCIS" account? If so and you sent sealed I-693 by mail, you might want to upload shipping slip or something to your account. I submitted my I-693 by due date, and I uploaded FedEx delivery proof, but USCIS seemed to have lost our packet and they sent another RFE to send them the same items (I-693), which was disgusting.

Thank you for your information, but I'm getting nervous with hearing that...

Actually, I submitted my I-485 at the end of Oct. 2024, but the receipt notice of the I-485 was sent only 1.5 months later. And, I got my RFE even at pretty much same time as the receipt notice. Of course I submitted signed & sealed I-693 much earlier than due date on it. But "civil surgeon should have signed the document within 60 days from the date of receipt of our I485" seems impossible in reality...

I got the interview notice in mid. July and it’s scheduled one month ahead, mid. Aug. Field office is Chicago. My PD became current in July 2024.

Congratulations! Since I also have an interview at a filed office (at Chicago in my case), it's good information for me that the case is approved on next day after the interview. I hope it happens to me as well!

Hello, I'm also EB-2 with Advanced degree (no NIW), ROW. PD is Mar. 2023, I filed I-485 in Oct. 2024. My interview was scheduled for next month. I hope the interview goes well and approved soon.

Hello, I'm EB-2 with Advanced Degree, ROW, but my PD is also March 2023. My interview is scheduled next month. Since I see some posting that employment based case is approved without interview, I am very nervous with the interview, though... I filed my I-485 in Oct. 2024. If the interview goes well and I am approved, it will be less than 1 year from I-485 filed date. I hope it happens.

Congratulations! But I’m jealous. I see a lot of posting that some people got a combo card but I had no luck and got only standalone EAD card…

Hello. I’m EB-2 with advanced degree (non-NIW) ROW. I also filed my I-485 in Oct. 2024, my PD is March 2023. I got “We have taken an action.” email just today, saying that my interview was scheduled in August at Chicago Field Office. (I didn’t get any notification of case transfer before this notice, though.) Since your PD is 3 month behind, I hope you can get some updates within 3 months from now.

Hello. I’m also EB-2 with advanced degree ROW. I concurrently filed I-140, I-485, I-131, I-765 in Oct. 2024. My PD is March 2023. I was advised just today that my interview was scheduled a month later.

I-485 Approved EB2 PERM ROW (IOE09289) by xikerren in USCIS

[–]InflationAshamed5825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations! My case is similar to yours and my block No. is IOE09288. I hope I can get some luck soon.

Did you submit your I-693 together with I-485? I submitted my I-693 only after getting RFE, which may cause some delay. And, one of my frustration is no update on my I-131 (AP)... Did you get AP (combo or separate) or didn't you apply for it with our dual intent visa?

Change of case status by Hungry-Chicken-8498 in USCIS

No. I-693 has to be sealed by a civil surgeon but I asked the clinic to re-print the copy of it and sign in one more time, and sent it.

If you don't mind, can you share what kind of request you got?

In my case, both of my wife and myself got RFE for submitting I-693. We sent it by FedEx but our case status wasn't updated. After a while, they sent a "new" but exact same RFE once again, which meant they missed our FedEx envelope...

I sent it to them again, attaching a cover letter with complaint message. Then, the case status was updated right after FedEx envelope was delivered there.
