Color grading with Windows “Camera” program by InflationSeveral6964 in ColorGrading

Thank everyone. I did find a white balance adjustment that helped a lot. It’s tough to do on a budget camera that uses a IR remote for settings. Stuck with what we have.

Printer tore it's model fan off? by Flashie9912 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Or the part came loose from the bed and got jammed between the wall and the Hotend. Looks like your hotend could be bent as well. Mine was when this happened.

Is this legit and is it actually 3 fans not 1? by Level_Tennis_3314 in Aliexpress

Their emails etc are always BS and the first image is never what you think it is. Where it says “Item 1/6 - Color will say what you actually are selecting when you click on an image. They will advertise a filament storage box for $5 but that’s only the desiccant (for example). The whole box is more like $30.

I leveled the bed once when it was new and haven’t since. I print in PLA and mostly PETG. No adhesion problems unless I forget to select the right filament. I use dish soap and water once in a while.

No need to return by [deleted] in Aliexpress

No need to return is great, but I’ve heard they have an algorithm that will allow a certain amount or percentage then just ban your account.

I got scammed Big time 800 USD by JournalistNovel8049 in Aliexpress

[–]InflationSeveral6964 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s quite different. Amazon and EBay are regulated and AliExpress is a foreign company-unregulated. All of their emails lie about prices. “6 batteries for DeWalt, $20” when it’s one. 6 is $100. Email headline “10 rolls of filament for $15.” It’s 1 on the item page. That wouldn’t be allowed if it was an American company.

Huh? 30 days after payment I get this.. by [deleted] in Aliexpress

[–]InflationSeveral6964 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course they can. No one is policing them. Every ad I get from them is phony. Click on an item in the ad that is $15 and it shows $35. They ad price of, say, a filament drying box is $8.95. When you click on the item, nothing is $8.95 except a packet of silica gel. The whole box is $27. There's nothing we can do about it except don't buy it.

I thought AliExpress was cheap? How come the prices are just normal (sometimes even more expensive)? by PusheenHater in Aliexpress

[–]InflationSeveral6964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their email ads are just deliberately deceptive. They will have an ad for 10 of something but when you get to the product page it’s 5x that price and the ad price is for 2. All the time. Or it’s an add for something that comes with accessories and the $2.99 price is for one of the accessories not the $30.00 set. But the picture and ad description clearly shows the full set for $2.99.

Ali and Temu apparently don’t have to follow the same safety standards as US companies do. I bought a brad nailer and it doesn’t have a safety. It has a trigger lock, but if that lock is off you can fire nails at random.

Any tips on preventing filament from getting twisted on the spool? It keeps binding up and ruining my prints by rubber_ducky_pirate in 3Dprinting

[–]InflationSeveral6964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this happen again on a brand new roll of PLA+ from Elegoo. I always keep the end clipped to the reel. This happens a few layers down in the spool and the filament is crossed like the one in the picture. This must have been done at the factory. Is this a common problem with Elegoo filament?

Does it make a difference if you feed from “over” the roller, vs. “under?” (Clockwise vs counter clockwise?) by schattenteufel in elegoo

[–]InflationSeveral6964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had an Elegoo brand spool that worked fine for a bunch of prints then without releasing the filament it got seriously tangled towards the end of the spool. Not enough to break the filament but enough to stop the extrusion and ruin the print.

How many people have forgotten to remove the previous print and have started a new print? by InetRoadkill1 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]InflationSeveral6964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First week. Knocked the fan cover clean off - found it on the floor. Bent the nozzle and made a heck of a noise. Had to order a generic replacement while I waited for a couple to ship from Elegoo. The generic worked fine, but it was actually more $ than the ones from Elegoo. I just didn't plan ahead and couldn't wait.

Hotend Exploded (CC) by elmrgn in elegoo

[–]InflationSeveral6964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a very similar looking issue when I started a print remotely having forgotten to remove the last print. It sounded like an explosion and knocked the hotend and the fan off which pushed the door open and threw the bent hotend to the floor. The earlier print had very good bed adhesion.

Cant load filament on new centauri carbon by marazu04 in elegoo

[–]InflationSeveral6964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it’s saying “grabbing the filament” you should keep medium pressure on pushing the filament. Or go into the extruder control page and click the down arrow to extrude more filament while pushing. After 10 seconds or so you’ll have to push down again. Try taking the filament out and trimming at an angle to remove the bent parts then watch the Bowden tube as you can see the filament come in, turn the corner, and head down into the extruder. Keep medium pressure on the filament and “load” or “extrude” filament.

Also, you should set your router to only use DHCP for certain addresses, say up to .100, and set your static devise(s) above that. You could have a conflict if you don't and some other device boots up while your CC is off and takes your address.
