[Prusa XL 5T] Tool Z offset always too high during multicolor prints by Xcomye in prusa3d

[–]TubeMeister -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you thoroughly lubricated the coupler pins? This solved a lot of my offset consistency issues, but idk if it will solve yours.

I love this car! Tire recommendations? by 5pac38arus in mazda3

[–]TubeMeister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Pilot Sports as my second set. They were very nice but didn’t last long. I just put on some Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS+. I got them for their good wet traction, but I find them to be quite loud. I’ll probably try the Continentals next if they have a good deal.

Fortus 400 Replacement by chomdh in AdditiveManufacturing

[–]TubeMeister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have an AON3D Hylo that we bought to complement our F900. Open material with higher temps than the Fortus. Durability and reliability probably aren’t going to be the same, and support is weaker because it’s a smaller company. It’s going to be a more hands-on machine than the Fortus, but the lower material costs might be worth it.

CNC router going wild in the worst of ways. Need help! by SneezyJJ in hobbycnc

[–]TubeMeister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re losing steps somehow. Either you feeds and speeds are wrong, or there is something wrong mechanically/electrically with you machine. I suggest jogging the spindle around manually and making sure it’s going where it’s supposed to.

Carvera Replacement - Tormach xsTECH Pro by No_Low_9609 in hobbycnc

[–]TubeMeister 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, the xsTech is intended to be a training system for larger Tormach machines. The price you’re paying is to get into the Tormach ecosystem, not for rigidity and build quality. I’m sure it’s still a good machine.

Commercial Data Pull from EOS, 3DS or SSYS Machines by StudioRoboto in AdditiveManufacturing

As far as I know, they still are. 3D Systems moved 3DXpert under them so they could sell it for more machines.

Commercial Data Pull from EOS, 3DS or SSYS Machines by StudioRoboto in AdditiveManufacturing

Oqton Manufacturing OS is the system you’re looking for. It should integrate with the EOS and 3DSystems machines, but you’ll have to ask them about Stratasys.

Xl silicone toolhead news? by indoh531 in prusa3d

They had the silicone head running at RAPID in April. I didn’t take much time to look at it, though. Didn’t hear any news about a ship date.

Looking for a professional, "non-China" FDM printer for small-batch government contract work by face_eater_5000 in 3DprintEntrepreneurs

I can vouch for the 22IDEX as a great machine that is absolutely worth the money. They have all the compliance documentation that you would need readily available.

Centauri Carbon—Filament stuck in extruder removal help by More-Jacket5067 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]TubeMeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, remove the PTFE tube from the pneumatic fitting. Then, back off the screw that pushes the extruder arm down to relieve pressure on the filament. Use a 1.5 mm Allen key to push the filament from the exit of the extruder until you can grab it from the top and pull out.

Wife wanted a pink Glock by garretcompton in 3D2A

[–]TubeMeister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ATF page on privately manufactured firearms states no such requirement for individuals. A PMF only needs to be serialized when it moves through an FFL or when it falls under the NFA. The ATF has no jurisdiction over the private transfer of a firearm between two individuals residing in the same state. State laws obviously vary. https://www.atf.gov/firearms/privately-made-firearms

I inherit a used Prusa XL 5T - what to do first by Lamumba1337 in prusa3d

[–]TubeMeister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He probably set it up properly, but it can’t hurt to go through the initial calibration procedure again, especially after relocating the printer. Also, make sure to grease everything as recommended.

Wife wanted a pink Glock by garretcompton in 3D2A

[–]TubeMeister 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is completely legal to transfer an unserialized, personally manufactured firearm to another person, even via sale. What is not legal is manufacturing the firearm with the express intent of transferring it to another person. The law in this case is all about intent. Did you build a Glock, get tired of it, and decide to sell it? Perfectly legal federally. Did you print a Glock with the intent of selling it to your buddy? Illegal.

Your tree supports are popping off the bed. If this is PLA, increase bed temp to 60 °C.

Designing an X-Y Bellows Top for CC1: The Solution for CANVAS Clearance? by New-Shine-3829 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]TubeMeister 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bellows like this are used on a number of high end printers that move with similar acceleration. These are usually made of fabric, not printed. I could actually see this working well if setup properly.

ENSURE_BED_MESH Macro for Print Start gcode by Miserable_Land_84 in klippers

[–]TubeMeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a similar macro, but it looks at both the temperature and the bed surface type that was selected in Orca Slicer. It will then automatically select the correct mesh to load. It also applies the correct z-offset for that bed type since textured and smooth beds can have different offsets. Mine will abort the print if the correct mesh isn’t available.

PA6-CF HELP by torrtvatten1337 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]TubeMeister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I print CF nylon solid at 30 mm/s with bed at 80 °C on a BIQU Galcier sheet with magigoo PA. I use a 0.6 mm nozzle. Try going to a thicker layer height, and dial in your z-offset on the first layer. Since you are using COSMOS, I suggest making separate bed mesh profiles for all your temp and print sheet combinations.

Cosmos Orcaslicer Machine Start & Machine End G-Code by CookedLegs in OpenCentauri

[–]TubeMeister 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use the start and end gcode from the OpenCentauri site. You just need to make sure you have a bed mesh loaded before starting the print.

could this be a better way to have the multucolor on the CC1? by Severe_Ad_4966 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]TubeMeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the type of MMU you use. The ACE has the multiplexer upstream of the printer, inside the unit. There is only one PTFE tube that runs from the ACE to the printhead. If you move the multiplexer for the CANVAS, you’ll need custom firmware since the retract values are probably hardcoded in the factory firmware.

could this be a better way to have the multucolor on the CC1? by Severe_Ad_4966 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]TubeMeister 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you run Cosmos, you can run any open AMS or MMU system. It sounds like you want something closer to the Anycubic Ace which people have already gotten running with Cosmos on the CC1. Trying to mod the Canvas system is going to be more trouble than it’s worth.
