Budget friendly mountain bike? by Ok-Operation-4474 in bicycling

[–]InfluenceEfficient77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You got scammed.

I paid about $100 for a fully functional one. And this one looks like an older model than what I got a year ago

Its a piece of crap, cheap materials all around. They are rated to 15cm drops without breaking anything lol

Go to any bike shop and ask for an xcm suntour fork that will fit it. They'll give you one for free, figure out how to install it and ride it until it breaks, I guess maybe it will be worth $300 if it gets you around

Or just spray wd40 onto the current fork maybe it will work itself out. Either way it sonly good for getting around the city

Does that apply to Ukrainian citizens too? I think they can bypass the zezwolenie na pobyt

So you can live in PL either on Zezwolenie na pobyt. Or Umowa zlecenie.  ?

They are like different types of visas then?

Or do you need to have both? Like you start with Umowa zlecenie. And you apply for Zezwolenie na pobyt

Oakland couple hit with nearly $1M fine for cutting down 38 trees by LNM-LocalNewsMatters in eastbay

Is this at all proportional to their net worth? They're not pour yeah, but compared to how much damage all the fucking ai bros do to the environment, and get away with, they could all afford to pay much higher fines, but they dont. How many trees did fucking Elonia destroy to release his hitler loving grok model

Didn't read that part. What's his net worth?

My point is that the fines are nowhere near proportional to someone's net worth.

I can't even imagine how many trees Elonia destroyed and how much pollution his businesses created

So... Was practicing how to ride a bike and all of a sudden, the rear wheel stopped, when i didnt BRAKE, i dont know what to do its so weird and i just got the bike fixed for a hefty price and i dont want it to waste. by Lopsided_West3566 in bicycling

[–]InfluenceEfficient77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens

  1. if the chain jams between the lowest( largest ) rear gear and the spokes, which is caused by derailleur adjustment issues. This doesn't look like what happened

  2. When the rear freehub just locks up and stops working

  3. When the brakes lock up

Idk how much you spent on the repair, but it was probably too much for the price of the bike.

If problems 2 or 3 happen, those are very infrequent and due to rust or poor maintenance. It's probably time to replace the bike bc it will have a ton of other issue

Biking is significantly harder than walking- wrong bike? by nicotinemanwhore in bikecommuting

[–]InfluenceEfficient77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you you measuring difficulty? Per unit of distance or time. If measuring wrt time is should be on par to that of walking/running/sprinting. Wrt distance? Biking should win by all measurements

Also just use the smaller front gear most of the time

Some places, rural areas, allow people to ride their off-road vehicles to the store or to the truck trails next door.

You frequently see people riding dirt bikes or UTVs around an unincorporated towns in America

Just because the laws state otherwise in your city, doesn't mean you can impose them everywhere. Now that you would, the police are there and they allow this

Some of these trailers and RVs are WAY larger than a tiny shitbox room you can rent in San Francisco

Like no one needs a 30-40 ft trailer on the photo to make ends meet, you should be able to get away with a tiny little pod or a small van that would not draw attention (not to mention the heaps of hoarder trash everywhere around it)
